Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative...

 Hmm.....

STAND ALONE NARRATIVE....
URGENT ADIVCE NEEDED

Dear Stella,

A church member offered my 25 year old sister a house help job in London.

Salary is 60k naira per month. They have collected her passport since 2020 so as to process her visa. They said they will open an account for her and run it for six months and then apply for visa for her.

I'm just worried about the 60k naira per month salary and what kind of hardship they will subject her to. Obviously, they will seize her passport while she's there.

Her highest level of education is SSCE. Please can she go? Please advise us.

Thank you

If your sister is not street smart please don't let her go cos what she is being told is not what she will get and most of these people who ask for help from Nigeria are very wicked, if they don't want you again, they set you up to be deported back to Nigeria.. why do they want to pack her 60k? Such jobs attract a fee of 500 pounds if it is too small every month.

I dont think you should let your sister go, its modern day slavery job!

  1. Looking like trafficking o. Instead let her get a job of 30k in Nigeria and be happy and alive. All this watering job offers seems too real to believe

    1. Did I just see 60k NAIRA for a 25 year old? Haba, when she can comfortably get a 40k job in Nigeria? This is blatant slavery. Your sister might end up regretting moving so. Don't say you weren't warned

    2. Whatever you do, tell your sister to RUN from this!

N60,000 is equal to £80! That £80 is not enough to get a monthly bus pass in the whole of London.

I know the person that claim they are helping your sister is helping her to get a visit visa. Once that visa expires, she will be illegal immigrant.

If your sister takes this role, they will seize her passport when she arrives. She will only stay indoors and cook, clean, take care of kids and she won't be allowed to go out.

Imagine being a lady and spending years without having friends, family etc.

I know a pastor (and pastor Mrs) who did this to a girl they brought "from the village" and at the end of the day, the lady was returned backt o her parent after 10 years in the UK with NOTHING to show for it. Ever since I learnt this, I have never looked at this pastor in the same light again.

On a personal note...I am a married man myself and have two kids and I am looking for someone that will work as a domestic worker and get paid between 1,000 - £1,100 per month (with free accomodation & food and 2 days off per week) and yet, even at this price, it's still against the UK employment rules. and i refuse to recruit someone in this manner until I make enough to pay a staff properly.

    3. God bless you sir. 15 years ago when I came to the UK,bas a fresher, a lady was trying her best to convince me to do the job for 400 and return to my house every Friday. I asked her if I am only coming to work for my rent. In my own case I had some street smartness and was lucky I never ever experienced did a job like that until I got settled. Poster those people offering to help your sister are from the pit of hell, don't let ignorance mess her up. She better stay in Nigeria. 60k naira indeed.

    2. Well...I will be moving abroad with my two nannies and driver. My driver is a family man but with time, we will help him move his family too. Reason being that these 3 people have been wonderful and I can't even imagine my family without them.

Now, poster it's very easy. Since you have your fears make sure you have precautionary measures in place like making sure her passport is deposited in a bank once got there. It's also possible to sign an MOU before she leaves.
But be careful so you don't truncate this young girls opportunity with your fears.

    3. Hope your chef and laundry man will also be moving?

    4. I guess you know that they will only be in your employment for the minimum amount of time it will take for them to understand the system. I would start making arrangements for new staff and you will shortly be needing this. It’s a very nice thing to do but you should manage your expectations to avoid disappointment.

    5. Good to know. We will have that at the back of our minds. Thank you.

    6. If you are moving to the States or Canada, it's against the law to pay them less than the minimum wage. Nigerian Couples have been jailed for this sort of arrangement where they pay their live in help in naira which when converted to dollars, during investigation, is peanut. Subjecting them to a medical test for HIV, Hepatitis etc. is illegal. Please take time to understand the laws and follow them. All the best.

@poster, what is most worrisome about this proposal is that your sister may not be gotten a nanny visa and the amount being offered to your sister is so small, it bothers on ridiculous.

  3. Serious modern day slavery.
Please don't allow her to . From the story up there, I don't think is house help job. The location is not even London as they claim.

  4. Abeg investigate well. Hope its not trafficking/prostitution?

Those things are everywhere not just Libya.

  5. Is your sister done with her education?
Please, do not let it happen. The stories we hear are outrageous.
Let her remain in Nigeria and hustle here, aleast you go dey hear and see her.

  6. Tell your sister to run.....

Its either for the purpose of slavery, or prostitution. How can you pay a house help 60k per month and still seize her passport because you brought her to London. If this was genuine, they would have taken their sister or family member to help them over there.

This is a dead offer on arrival and might not end well.

    ReplyDelete
  7. First of all 60k is too small
& definitely the job she will be doing there as a househelp won't be small o, they will sp use her.
How are you sure its even househelp job?
Just like Stella said if she's not street smart don't let her go.

  8. That person is wicked. Not even £70 in a whole month!! Seeing that it's all expenses paid, at least £150 a month is not too much considering child care can be quite expensive. Eastern European get about £120 a week and they only do minimal chores like ironing, and get a day off in the week. They concentrate on the children

    1. My brother pays 300£ per week minus cleaning and it’s live in. I’d rather pay your sister half of the money monthly than subject her to this blatant wickedness. Nigerians I hail una oo

    2. I won't be sorry if this lady puts them in trouble eventually! Imagine less than £100/month for nanny job! I pay my live in £800/month and she doesn't pay bills! If you move someone, then pay them the wage due to them or lay the cards on the table in truth for them to decide. It's quite unfair to engage someone just because they are ignorant or desperate. That is slavery/trafficking/exploitation!
A lot of Nigerians and wickedness are like 5 & 6! Let God be the judge.

  9. Wrong Move.. You better don't go

    ReplyDelete
  10. This is risky. What if she's used for something else other than a house help?

The world is dangerous. I'll suggest she doesn't go.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Passport collected since 2020. That's almost 2yrs..Do you think that they are still processing the visa? 🤷‍♀️

Let your sister stay back home and learn a skill.. Don't subject your family to long term stress and heartbreak. I'm certain that your church member has relatives that still reside in Nigeria
They need the work and visa too.

    Think about it.

  12. You sure say she nor need to sit tight find job for naija? Becox people are bad o. But if you say don't go abroad, you go turn to bad belle. so make she go, she go see say people can change and hopefully she go conquer. It is well.

    ReplyDelete
  13. See you see slavery!!!

Your sister will suffer ehn unless she’s smart, then use that opportunity to seek asylum from the govt as this is a case of trafficking/slavery

    ReplyDelete
  14. The truth is your sister wont get to London. They ll traffic her to another country for slavery or prostitution.

Dont say you were not warned. True house help job, doesnt require your employer/helper to hold your passport. They only need your passport number.

Dont be too desperate or this might be the last time you see your sister, healthy, poor and alive.

Her life is worth more than 60k.
Aupair/househelp jobs attract £600 per month (462k) , you will be given your own room and you are entitled to off days every week. This can be applied for legally but ANYONE that claims they want to "HELP" you and wont apply via the legal aupair route is lying and is NOT A HELPER.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hi Poster, Would you move to London for a 60k job? You can barely survive on that pay in Naija and this is a foreign land where 60k is equivalent to nothing. What if something happens and the person decides to kick her out of the house with nothing but just a month pay, how many hours (not even days) do you think your sister can survive on 60k in London (where she knows no one)?

    ReplyDelete
  16. No be small thing o and make she stay back

    ReplyDelete
  17. How can you be worried in 2022 when they collected her passport since 2020. Are you saying they are processing her passport since 2020. Is your sister sitting at home idle since then waiting for when they will call her. Someone that is 25 in 2020 should be 27 in 2022 that means she will stay and wait till God's know when the passport comes out. Kindly ask her to do something with her life in Nigeria. If the passport comes out. They should write agreement on new terms of job offer No one should hold her passport for her. She should be allowed to change jobs over there if she wishes.

    ReplyDelete
  18. So you mean these people don't have family members they can take abroad?
    No cousin
No niece or nephew with the way naija is hard like this?
I'm sorry to say but your sister will either be trafficked, or she is going into modern slavery.
    60k naira a month?
Obviously, there is more to this story because in the UK, no one will pay her that coins compare to what they're paying others.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Modern day slavery is possibly calling her name and please, the plan should be aborted

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hmm! This matter is very dicey and a risky one for your sister ( I hope they won't subject her to slavery in the name of abroad).

Please I will advise you let her stay back and go to school or learn a skill she might not understand now but it's better for you, her and the entire family.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hmmmmm...this is the definition of modern day slavery. please she should not go

    ReplyDelete
  22. Just imagine and I’m look for a live in nanny in Dallas here to pay $1500 a month.
Please poster your sister shouldn’t go o.

  23. It smells of prostitution. Forget that "church member" tag. Being a church member does not necessarily mean being a believer in Jesus Christ.
Greed is the rule of the game. She is already placed on a wicked salary which she may not get at all. Run and let your sister run. Let her develop herself education wise in Nigeria.

    ReplyDelete
  24. House help jobs abroad; same lines they use to get you girls into runs. And you are not seeing anything?
You are asking questions? What a shame that all the stories of slavery, sex slavery and abuses by these abroad cartels are not entering into your ears.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Lol..

    All these church people sef..
First of all, WDF is 60k.. if hlyou don't tell him to take that nonsense money and shove it up his asss ehn 😏🙄

2ndly, shey you know many of those sex slaves in Egypt, Libya, and Arab countries were told that they were going to Canada, USA, Europe for these kinda jobs🙄

Real between the lines and advise
    yourself

    Nonsense church people everywhere

  26. I fear this type of package, some family members can't be trusted let alone a church member.London isn't within Nigeria that she can easily run away or contact you guys incase all isn't going on well.make una think am well ooo!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Let her stay here in Nigeria and do any work she can find. It is better you people are seeing her here o.

    ReplyDelete
  28. 60k per month?
    Ehhh cash app

If she has a way to move away from them when she gets there but if not make she no go.
Will she be a house girl forever?

    ReplyDelete
  29. So why don't you pray about it and let God show you what to do in this situation? The same way you are asking this community is the same way you should ask God. He is closer than you think.

  31. I hope for your sister's and family sake you rethink your decision and stop her from going. Your sister should learn a skill or go to nursing school. 60k a month is peanuts in Nigeria, how much more in London. See,she will suffer ehhhnnn. Tell them to return her passport because they're definitely not good people.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Don't go. She shouldn't. Slavery or prostitution waiting for her. With high exploitation

    ReplyDelete
  33. This is Human trafficking

    ReplyDelete
  34. They are simply going to turn her to a slave. London where a monthly travel ticket can cost as much as £250 depending on the zones. They definitely do not have any good intention for your sister and what they are proposing is AGAINST THE LAW. Don't let them mess up her life!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. The family sef wicked.60k naira (less than £100)per month is slavery so tell your sister to go,manage for a couple months and japa

    ReplyDelete
  36. I just ran this story by my hubby and like me, his initial reaction was this modern day slavery! We live in the UK and the government takes it seriously. If word gets out that your sister is a house-help, her sponsors may be arrested and your sister may be up on her luck and get a stay out of it.
