Egbunike reportedly collapsed inside his office in Abuja in the late hours of Tuesday, March 8, 2022 . Reports reveal he was rushed to the National Hospital, Abuja, where he passed on.
1st News reports that Egbunike was in charge of a Special Investigation Panel (SIP) constituted by the Inspector General of Police; Usman Baba to probe a suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police and former head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT); Abba Kyari over his alleged involvement in a fraud conspiracy with renowned Instagram influencer, Ramon Abbas aka Hushpuppi.
