US Sanctions 6 Nigerians For Sponsoring Boko Haram

The United States has designated six Nigerians as sponsors of the terrorist group Boko months after their convictions in the UAE.

The U.S. Department of State made the disclosure via a statement on Friday.

It announced that the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) added the citizens to the terror-support list.

They are .......
-Abdurrahman Ado Musa,
-Salihu Yusuf Adamu,
-Bashir Ali Yusuf,
-Muhammed Ibrahim Isa,
-Ibrahim Ali Alhassan,
-Surajo Abubakar Muhammad.

They are now Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons, pursuant to Executive Order 13224, as amended.

They were indicted for “having materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, or technological support for, or goods or services to or in support of, Boko Haram”.

The American government said the action follows the United Arab Emirates’ prosecutions, convictions, and designations of the individuals for supporting terrorism.

The Department of State designated Boko Haram as a Foreign Terrorist Organization and Specially Designated Global Terrorist organization on November 14, 2013.

The sect has murdered thousands and carried out attacks in the Northern and Northeastern regions of Nigeria.

Boko Haram has also severally attacked the Lake Chad Basin in Cameroon, Chad and Niger since 2009.

  1. These guys are small fish naaah

Sanction the real sponsors. You know them!!!!

  2. Very great news. Are these people in government?. If yes, They should be stripped of their position immediately.

    1. The one in communication I'd still being celebrated and you are saying they should be stripped. These ones are the dreggs of the group.

  3. Can some one break down the meaning of these sanctions?

  4. See them, same set of people that have been running this Nation down on all facets..... Killing their people and source of livelihood just because of their Own selfish Interest.

  5. When reports came last year or thereabout about over sixty names of people sponsoring terrorism in the country, the federal government only told us that they received names but refused to disclose the names for us or prosecute them because they are their kinsmen and from the northern extraction.

Today, America have done better by sanctioning few among those persons the federal government refused to investigate and prosecute.

It's a crying shame that corruption is being aided by this administration. The fight against terrorism is still far from being over.

    1. Teejay thanks for sparing me the trouble. Up till today we are yet to hear the names of the terrorists other countries have gone through the trouble of fishing out. Yet human lives are being wasted on daily basis and we're to blv that there's a serious fight on by this govt to curb terrorism?

  6. Way to go.Someone next door will not comment on this post😁🏃

  7. They kidnapped Isa Pantami son, they rescued him under 48hrs,how fast 🤝They know the sponsors and their hideouts

  8. I wish their pictures will be published in a national daily or online with a personal profile.

Hopefully, Mr Adeshina will no longer pretend that they don't exist. I'll like to hear his excuse for why Nigeria is yet to prosecute these murderers even after all the heavy lifting had been done by the UAE and the US.

  9. Other countries are there to help Nigeria.

  10. Way to go but loads of names omitted from this list like up to 60something self these ones and errand boys their ogas go shock you ...u fit even see dangote name and buhari is their patron ...I come in peace
