    2. When y'all talk about light issues, I find it hard relate. Because Jos, my location in particular has light for almost 20hrs a day. Sometimes we can go at least 2 days with light without any interruption. And when they take the light, it doesn't take 2hrs before it is restored.

    4. I’m recovering from a broken heart from a guy I suspect is a narcissist. I thought this guy was the one. He came into my life and made me desire having a husband and children. He promised me a loving marriage and beautiful family.

He got me to break my walls.
I’m very intuitive but, I explained my feelings as paranoia and PTSD and, my therapists affirmed it by confirming that I’m very stressed and I’m suffering anxiety.

I’ll later have more evidence to confirm that this guy is really a narcissist.

I feel sorry for him. I don’t know why a hard working guy like him who can get so much going for him including a loving relationship would keep losing because of this personality disorder.

I’m at the stage of concern and worry about what he might do to me and my reputation. I walked away and I’ve cut off communication.
I shudder to think of how I may have handled this if I didn’t have my own money and self love.

Narcissists would try to ruin your reputation after you leave them. But don’t worry.
      It would blow over

  7. The few days I spent in Bayelsa came with lot of observations. It's a small state and less than two hours drive from Port Harcourt city. If I had gotten some good money, I would have purchase lands there for commercial purposes. The prices were so good and on a nice area. All Bayelsa need is a good road network and linkage. When this is done, you will see a rapid development in the shortest distance time.

I enjoyed my stay over there a little bit but the sand flies were terrible. The thing is still scratching me up to this point I'm typing.

I saw a good number of young mothers. As in women not up to 25 with multiple children..

I ate banga soup with big cat fish. It was so sweet and we'll prepared.

In all, I didn't succeed with my intention of going there but in all, I still thank God for his grace and protection.

Feeling so bored as I've been indoor all through today.

Will take something light before going to bed.

    3. Teejay, na my land you go so. My parents reside there. My elder bro as well. I served there in 2011. The experience ehn?? Too many young mothers. Promiscuity choke! The state is also not commercially viable. Lazy me . Hardworking women. Na only one road dey the state sef. The others smaller ones are almost inconsequential. Things are really expensive. I won't even recommend Bayelsa for a young start up. They can be indifferent to 'foreigners' especially when they sense you are living large. Bole and fish on point tho. I still visit every year because of my parents, and there's still no atom of development or improvement from 2006 when my parents left Kano to Bayelsa. Quite disappointing. Make e nor be say na only negatives I talk. They are nice peeps. Plenty boutiques, car wash and joints. Lemme run along before Bayelsans will come for me! πŸ˜‚

    4. Ali B, you captured it very well. Never wanted to say all that before they think I'm being tribal here. Once it rain there, everywhere becomes covered with flood cos It's a slumpy area that was sand filled except few places that's better I wonder what the government have been doing since 1996 the state sad created.

Now, I understand what people who are blaming Goodluck Jonathan meant.

Yes, things are very expensive there and little development. I guess it's cos of the road people are not building yet. Once there's good road, I believe people will start buying lands and building.

Bayelsa ought to be a mega city by now being that it was there oil was first discovered.

  9. So I was at a friend's place and her daughter's best friend (let's call her Ann) arrived for a sleepover. The first thing I noticed about Ann, who is 12yo, was that she was skinny. No, skinny is good. Ann was bony. Seriously bony, like a stick. When Ann bent over you could see her spine (in fact, she would be a good patient for a spinal tap because you wouldn't need to palpate to differentiate the cervical, thoracic or lumbar vertebra, you could differentiate it with your eyes only.) when Ann looked up to watch TV, you could see her trachea, see the ridges of the cartilage through her throat. She is the thinnest 12 year old I've seen. Plus she walks as though she is going to faint, I even was afraid when she was carrying her sleepover bag because I thought she would fall under its weight.

So I asked my friend why she's so thin, and my friend revealed that she's vegan. Her mum is, and her mum refusues to give her daughter milk or other dairy, eggs, meat, and fish. Only plant-based food because eating animals is wrong and animal food is bad for the health.

But Ann is a growing child and needs her nutruents: calcium, protein, vitamins and minerals. She needs vit D from bones and milk and she needs egg and its yolk, and she bloody hell needs fish and fish oil, and needs protein from meat. But according to my friend, her mum is all those "new-age oyibo mums" who refuse to hear any opinions contrary to hers. She even honeschools Ann, because "what is being taught in school to kids nowadays is bad and subjects like algebra and history are not important in life" so she teaches the girl only science, art, and English language.

Ann's teeth are like milk teeth, very small and scattered all over her mouth. But why wouldn't they be? She's not getting any vitamins and minerals. Her teeth remind me of children's teeth before they fall out, except her teeth is supposed to be permanent now, right?

As the amebo that sdkers have trained me to be πŸ˜‚, I decided to question Ann abiut her diet. I asked her if she's had chicken before and she said she had chicken nuggets at a birthday and she liked it, and she really likes eggs (her mum used to be vegetarian before so she let her eat eggs, before she went completely vegan) but her mum said eating animals is bad so they can no longer have any products from animals.

I felt so bad for her because children, as children, should be allowed to enjoy foods-chicken, cakes, chocolates, ice cream, of course in moderation. In her case, she can't eat anything, even at events or kids parties because they're not vegan. When she comes for sleepovers and my friend cooks rice and chicken, she had to have only the rice because her mum forbids her from eating anything that isn't from plants. She drinks almond milk, soy milk, beans, rice, vegetables and fruits, that's all- because honestly, how many nutrients can one get from plants??? Especially for a growing child. Omo!

Some parents think they're doing the right thing not knowing they may be causing something harmful for their children. Her mum should give her a balanced diet and let her decide when she gets older, what she believes and what her ethics concerning food is, after all at that age, she might not need as much nutrients as she does now, as a growing child.

Anyway happy Friday to all of una.

      Delete
    4. That's ignorance. Please help the child by looking for a way to talk sense into the mum. You could debate all these things with the mum. Share your views with her and let her share hers then you liase and arrive at one conclusion. Let it be a friendly conversation. That homeschooling should be scraped. Little girl needs to learn how to mix with people from an early age. You can't take her away from the society. She will definitely meet soceity people in this life by then it's going to be a lot of struggle for her to cope

First and foremost, a child belongs to God, then the government before parents.
If anything happens to that girl or she finds herself in court because of this act, she will understand her position when they tell her " on this day, you Mrs Mary denied Miss Martha right to certain food..." They will first separate mother and daughter talk.

  28. I've been wondering how other ladies manage buying pads in this economy.
Since they said it's important to change every 3hours, I did the maths.
On the average you'd have atleast 4 changes per day.
If your flow is 5 days, and a pack contains 7 pieces, you'd need 20 pieces (3 packs monthly).
This analysis won't work for people with heavy flow.
Pads aren't even what they used to be in the past, they're a lot thinner.
Nigerias economy is not helping matters sef, people still dey find chop money talkless of pad.
If you know any affordable pad brands
Or tips, kindly share. These are issues noone really talks about.

    1. Go for kids diaper, size 3 or 4,ask for the Nappy pant of brand like Huggies;it’s over 30 pieces inside and price is 2200 now..

It’s thicker than the usual sanitary pad and absorbs well..

Open up the Nappy pant(sealed both edges) and fold in your pant as usual..

      Hope this helps..

I use Molped and it’s very good,it’s 8 in a pack, and very affordable,I’ll advise If you have money go to the major markets where they do wholesale and buy the whole pack of sanitary pads,Molped is 2000 for a full pack of like 8 or 10 single packs can’t remember again.Thats how I buy and keep and I never run out of pads, instead of buying single packs in supermarkets which is more expensive. This is slightly cheaper and good too.

  35. Una good evening my people. Today I Just remembered something that happened to me when I was very young I think I was around 6/7years.
There was this girl of about 13/14years she was a house maid to a family, so there was this day the foster mother was beating this girl seriously, she tore her clothes striped her naked and , and was just beating this girl anyhow . She said the girl stole her money ,dig the ground and kept the money in there. The girl was sha disgraced that day and everyone move on but I didn't move on, I was always tormenting this girl with how she stole money and was beating and disgraced.
This girl would feel very sad and was so scared of me Note :(she was way older and taller than I am. ) there was a time she even begged me to stop the bully but I never listened, you know the fact that I could shut her up in front of the rest kids and she feeling humble and loyal whenever she sees me gives me joyπŸ˜‚
Shebi dem say every day for thief, one day for the owner.
So the was this fateful day all children where all playing in the next compound this girl also inclusive. I was really angry seeing this girl opening teeth and playing anyhow, hnmm na so I entered their midst and as I was about to start my normal bullying of this girl God knows whether this girl smoke igbo that day I didn't know. My people na so this girl tear me one thunderous slap chai I no relent Oo, na so me and this girl started to wrestle before I knew what is happening this girl was already on top of me giving me serious beating.
She beat me finish tore my clothes and give sand chop see all the children shouting and hailing this girl
What pained me most was adults watching two children fighting and they could not separate us what if the girl killed me?? 😣.
Since that time oo I learnt not to ever bully anyone again oo.This happened arround 1996 and it's still fresh in my memory Chai things we do as children.

It's Friday again....... is been a busy kind of week, updating my baking skill and hoping for the better . just noticed the consequences of fear hmmmmm, few days ago I was feelings pains in my back I kept waving it off until I couldn't bear it again...so I decided to go for check,I used this electronic body check up machine (just wanted to get overall body check)
I went the place met the health care personnel then the test began.
After the test was conducted the health worker explained to me what he saw,he said the pancreas is affected, that the sugar level is high that's why....then he asked if anyone in my family is affected with diabetes....that the issue can lead to diabetes if not well treated.
Me I was confused, how can my sugar level be high, this my young age and diabetic, I rejected that...I got home coudnt concentrate, every thought can to my mind,I became weak,my Palm, lips was so dry I was disturbed.
I decided to visit hospital and see a doctor...sugar blood test was conducted and the result came out very perfect, doctor said the percentage was very ok..... immediately I regain my strength, felt very OK ....indeed fear is a killer.

  43. Marriage is another level o. Marry your friend, marry your friend. I thought I married my friend till after marriage, I laughed and hit him, bros changed it for me o. How dare I get so over-familiar with him that I laugh and hit him? He's my husband and not my mate, blah blah blah. If you see the warning he gave me. That I'm supposed to be calling him sir and bending to greet him. Omo I was too speechless to react. I dated this guy for 4 good years and we were best of friends. The painful thing was that he did it in front of my inlaws. Now I'm minding my business in this house. If he enters the room, I move to the parlour. If he comes to the parlour, I move back to the room. It's been a month and I'm still shocked. He's been looking for how to rekindle the spark we used to have were we would play like children but omo I don't want to get over-familiar. Let me be on my own mbok. That warning infront of my inlaws is still ringing bell in my head.

Haaaaa men with Ego, that was a pure eyeservice from him.....he did that so that his people will know that he is in charge of the home and seriously maybe he has been told to man up now his married to avoid receiving insult from his partner.take heart my dear, apply wisdom this is one of the challenges of marriage

    3. When he’s tired of searching for your face, maybe you’ll rest. Why can’t you broach the topic, tell him you didn’t like it and let him apologize and mine on?. You’re keeping malice and that’s also unhealthy.

    4. Wahala oh πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯²πŸ₯².
Sorry my dear. He wanted to show himself.
Let him make the move and have a proper conversation with him.
Tell him you want to respect him but you still want to be able to play with your husband

I can’t imagine not playing with my husband. I hide and scare him when he’s coming back. Hit his bum bum and run away.

Don’t worry sis, he would come around
Men and their ego. Na so e dey be sometimes.

    5. I always say marriage exposes people for who they really are.
Darling buckle up and plan ahead.
Plan faaaaaar ahead, as dem don kuku help you already show you clear road map.
Make sure you have your own money.
And I hope you are not the type of woman dependant on a man for even underwear? It's the quickest way to see finish. Get multiple stream of income.
Most importantly keep your mouth shut, your alpha malu says 'he is not your mate', that 'he does not want over familiarity in the marriage' abi ?
      Ehen, you sef, adjust accordingly.

Alfa malu that wiii be doing eye service to his family members? Na mumu 🀑🀑🀑🀑 be dat nau.

    6. Hmmmmm, this is also the story of my life. When my husband comes back from work, I will say how far? How was work? One day out of the blues, he warned me sternly in front of my housegirl and nanny to never say How far, how was work. He is not my mate in any form. I should always say Welcome. I am still traumatized, this happened about 7 years ago. Till now, I greet him WELCOME. This is among many other incidents. I have accepted we can NEVER be friends. He is just my husband, and I must act accordingly. It is well, I cried again typing this.

    7. Stupid ego....shine your eyes because hat man will not have your back when with his family..if he can do that this early in marriage..tell him how disappointed you are in him and tell him one of the reasons you married him is because you felt comfortable with him... Hope he changes
