I'm just here thinking of the mental resilience of Nigerians. A girl can break up with a white guy then he goes around shooting innocent people but the systemic hardships we face and pass it off as normal will break sane people.
ReplyDeleteAEDC disconnected my building from the transformer because they asked that all the prepaid meters to be moved to the ground floor. Thus is a building of 24 flats on 4 floors. Initially, PHCN fixed the meters outside each flat, then last year, AEDC came and upgraded to the new meters with no complaints. Then you wake up one morning to say all the meters must come down which will cost each person at least a 100k to rewire and costs more the higher your flat is. No one argued and it was decided by both parties that AEDC will move the meters since its against the law to touch their meters and then the electrician will connect to the new wires. Only for AEDC to change their minds that the electrician should rewire first then they take down the meters which isn't possible and they disconnected the whole build and fixed a time to have a discussion but refused to show up or pick calls. Throwing people in darkness for over a week and counting.
Sad.. nothing is working in this country.

And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says.
And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
Just like the widow, who kept Coming to the judge for justice, when we continue to go to God in prayers and supplication, he will not put us off. The book of Matthew 7:11 says,
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Therefore, let's go to God boldly in prayers,for when we call he will answer,don't give up.

MASTERCLASS - Pap/Custard Edition
ReplyDeleteThere are 3 secrets:
- the consistency of the paste. Not too thick and definitely not too watery
- the temperature of the paste. Your paste shouldn't be cold. If your ogi was in the fridge, prepare it into paste using lukewarm water. At the minimum, your paste should be room temperature.
- speed at which you pour your boiling hot water. You have to be a ferrari driver here.😄😄😄😄🤣🤣
I laughed reading that 👆cos unfortunately i still can't make custard or pap except I turn in on direct fire. My village people will not allow it be good if I use direct pouring of hot water. I give up!!😀

DeleteI make both very well. I make it on the fire especially pap made with other grains apart form corn, it needs to be well cooked. Pap made with corn is easy to make on the ground by pouring the boiling water, just don't let the raw paste to be watery.
DeleteSome people still don't get how to make pap right, it must have lumps. Same thing with semo.
DeleteI think being raised by a food seller mum helped me a great deal in the kitchen aspect.

ReplyDeleteSo I travelled on Friday, saw bread on my way and noticed that the bread in town is more expensive than the ones they sell along the express way. Very plenty difference in price. I used to think the stuff sold along the road while traveling were more expensive, maybe there are a few exceptions though.
Most things along that road while travelling are actually cheaper - if you have a good bargaining power, if not, they will rip you off.
