INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD


I love weekends, I love public holidays and festive periods. As we are kicking into the month of October, my brain is wired to start planning for Christmas.


I love Christmas season so much, I am already excited. I always daydreamed about the kinds of Christmas traditions I watched in movies while growing up.

You know all those Christmas movies that the whole family gather by the tree to exchange gifts and later proceed to have lunch or dinner at a dinning table brimming with so much food.


Now that I am a mom, I am willing to go all out to have wholesome Christmas traditions. Tried the whole tree thing but with toddlers they were just scattering the whole thing and they wanted to pull off the lights. I had to ditch it last year.


This year I would be researching on things that I can do with the kids, Christmas traditions that they would grow up loving. Something they can pass on to their own kids too.


I just love the smell of Christmas, the joy in the air, the look of excitement on the faces of the kids who know that their Christmas clothes are locked up somewhere and the whole carefree spirit people have that period.


I am so excited already.

    When I newly arrived naija after more than a decade abroad, I used to frown at people the way the rumpled naira notes. You see men especially because they put money in their pockets and some women bringing out money from their bags bring out un arranged naira notes. I corrected and made people understand money should be arranged well.

    People will bring out rumpled and un arranged money, flip it in the air to strengthen and from there pay for stuff. If change is to be given, the seller will dip hand into where he/she puts money, selects the change, flips it in the air too to strengthen before giving it out.

    After staying here for years now, I no longer arrange money. If the money in my pocket is not much, I no longer arrange it. I have started living like Nigerians.

    This is how bad environment influences one.

    Motherhood poster, I love Christmas too, I cant wait to snap pyjamas picture near Christmas tree 😊and put gifts inside stockings lolzz and the food,wen I was little I looked forward to Christmas coz that was the only time my mom could afford big big chicken inside rice,lolz, I would eat more than 10 times that day. I really look forward to Christmas with my daughter and my husband, one family overall. While growing up,I envied families celebrating Christmas with their fathers/husbands coz mine was late, now I get to enjoy the feeling too. We thank God for love and family.

    So our boss is celebrating her birthday on Sunday, to our surprise, she paid us salary today and asked us to use it and buy nice shoes and make good hair to attend the party. One of the staff now asked her whether she will she pay us another salary next week, (reason is the highest paid here is 35k which is not enough to careter for one's personal needs, let alone buy shoes for party), all the teachers just bursted into laughter 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
    That was how boss got angry and said everyone must be present, if anyone is absent, his/her October salary would be cut. Everyone is just angry this afternoon.

    Some times I feel I need to teach my brother a lesson by making him humble in life, I feel like going diabolical on him to make him understand that he is not an angel but God choose to show him mercy.

    How can you use my situation to mock me, to constantly remind me that I had a failed married, how can you never want to allow me air my own opinion on things about my health when I foot my bills and take full responsibility of myself?

    My ex told you I was attending club you believed what he said, someone you invited several times to sort things out but he constantly refused to see you an when you offered him the bride price he sent his account details. Should I continue begging a man who is not ready to stay with me cos I want to be called married woman. Did you know what I went through just to called married, when I wrote him off and processed divorce papers he came looking for what didn't miss.

    Why didn't he refused the bride price and if I was that bad as he painted me why did he come back ? You should have heard that I club since I left that abusive marriage, yet you use my past to talk down on me. Is not your fault cos God blessed you with a wife and two children then poor me don't have a husband or children but battling with fibroid. If you don't stop using my failed marriage on me I will make you suffer that all you ever have will be gone in no time. Please dear brother don't push me to that level, I have told you about this yesterday but you feel you are mini God. I don't have evvil hest but this guy has hurt me so deeply, believing an ex over your blood sister. I know the evil you have done in the past but God has shown you mercy please enjoy it and don't mock me with my present condition.😟😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I have been wiping throughout the night, God help me to calm down please.

    I used to love holidays too but when I started my own business I am no longer enthusiastic about it, I even feel burrned because I have to take my kids along with me to my shop or I stay back home with them because of stress. What I cherish most now is birthdays omo once we are in their birth month I begin to plan and fantasize about it, my in-laws have caught the birthday bug too.
