Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative...

 Hmmm....

STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
SERIOUS ADVICE NEEDED

I had myomectomy in 2019 and after several scans months later I was told no more fibroid but since last year reality set on my health which reviewed I have fibroid. I have decided to seek medical attention from specialist and FMC in Abuja for better help but all are asking me including private hospitals to do a repeated myomectomy. The amount FMC is asking is 400k reason that they will be using the private wing to perform the surgery with other qualified doctors and surgeons to be in the theater for the best surgery.

The issue I am having is that my elder brother told me of two sisters whom a particular doctor in the east who did fibroid removal and it has not come back after . It’s up to 20 years and more nothing has come back. My brother is saying I should travel down to the east to see this doctor and have him take out the fibroid:

Traveling to the east I need nothing less than 70 to a 100k cos I will need to travel by road going and coming back. I will look for a hotel to lodge while visiting that doctor, I will run test and scans for the doctor to be sure before he can schedule me for a surgery. The money I will spend only visiting him will go along way with paying my bills.

If I say I want to stay in our village before traveling to the hospital I will spend money, I don’t even have the doctor’s name, his hospital just a description and telling me to tell bike men in aba that I am looking for doctor fibroid hospital. The description is not okay for me, I have searched on google but cannot find anything related to this information he gave me.

Now if I finally have the surgery in the east who will be at the hospital with me for days, my mum and dad are the only ones in the east and my mum cannot leave my father alone at home as he is old and cannot even do anything for himself.

My mum is still managing herself as old age is setting in for her. If I am discharged from the hospital I will need to stay in my village with my parents for weeks to get healed before getting back to Abuja. The day I will be going to take off the plaster how do I move there as I cannot take bike to my junction ,My village is not developed so no light, no strong network except climbing trees to get network.

My mum will still be the one doing everything for me cos I cannot do anything for myself. If I am ready to come back to Abuja I will need to take flight cos coming by road will worsen my health. Paying for flights and all hospital bills I will be the one to do it and him suggesting I do it in the east will not give anything just advice.

I want to have the surgery done in Abuja where i can easily get to the hospital even without anyone, I will have friends who will stay in the hospital with me, when I am discharged at least staying home, having light, constant borehole water, network, washing machine and I will not have any issue with doing house chores on my own is the main reason I want to do it here in Abuja.

Even if that man in the east does the surgery for me if no pregnancy within few years it may come back which is the same thing the doctors here are saying. I know my brother wishes me well but he cannot love me more than I love myself.

Having this surgery in my village will even make things worse for me cos I will be without network, light, movements will be difficult, I will spend more money than expected, I don’t want to think of the stress. I cannot stay home more than one month to resume work so I need to come back to Abuja in a month time. How do I make them understand that what they are suggesting will not help me at all. I need more information about that doctor he is talking about, east is more expensive than here. If they have best doctors in the east why did he not have my dad do his eye surgery in the east but he had it in Abuja.

My brother is Saying I don’t like to listen to anyone's advice when I will be the one to pay for everything oh not like he is helping me in anyway. I just ignored him cos I told the doctors I want a little time from now till next year to get my body, mind ready for it. The injection I have been placed on till I am ready no one is helping me out, the hospitals I have visited no one is also helping me out. I don’t know if I am doing the right thing or I should travel to the east as my brother has said and do the surgery in Aba with the doctor fibroid.

*Why don't you stay in Abuja and do it? There is a BV in Abuja that had hers successfully done....She didn't have anyone with her at home after she was discharged and she called me crying that she needed food, there was money but she could not get hold of anyone, I had to call BV Castle and beg her to check up on the BV....It was Castle that cooked for her for some days and took care of her so i understand what you mean , you need to stay where you can get someone to help you out...

Maybe those who have had Surgery can chip in some words for you to know if the removed Fibroid came back...

All the best to you....

    2. Sorry poster for what you are going through.
Go to Bwari General Hospital, AbujatAbuja have very capable hands there that does myomectomy. Guess what? It's not very expensive. The myomectomy itself is #40,000 as at last year. Plus and minus all you may spend may not be up to #150,000.
If you are lucky and Dr. Anate Abdullahi(He is the best myomectomy surgeon I know, he is also the Medical director) is your consultant you will get the best care ever. He will be a doctor and a friend to you all through your myomectomy journey.
NB Do not look down on the hospital because it is cheap. That hospital has lots of professionals and equipment.
      May God help you poster

    5. Stop wasting your monies for fibroid operations!!! Change your life style, after I almost bled to death in a London hospital after a fibroid operation ; I was rescheduled for another operation! I ran away to Nigerian then! It became really bad; as I refused to go on the pill or take any English medication. I had another encounter in a NY hospital 2 year after! I did a scan; they couldn’t find anything in all my video scan; no doctor could interpret the scan image. My enemy was bleeding heavily every month. My gynae told me to go have a baby; I told ; I am not legally married; she now told me to go to sperm bank; I asked her if she had kids; she said yes! I asked her, if she went to sperm bank; she said she is married. I just told her! Sorry my dear sis; I will not be having any kids outside of wedlock!!! She laughed when and said you cheeky lady; because she is from Jamaica !!! All the men I was meeting were even wrong men!!! And I was celibate, and still celibate, as I am born spirit filled. I changed my life style! Intermittent fasting; eating right ; loads of fruits and vegetables. I moved back to Nigeria before Covid; and resigned any stressful job that would not allow me have peace of mind. I just realized there is a marine principality behind fibroid! With all these , I was still bleeding heavily every month for almost two years! Continued in my prayer warfare and I told myself, I was never going to do any surgery, or take any foreign medication. It was recently when I even got back to Nigeria after taking pcr test of day 2 and day 7; which where both negative that I realized that the test ; is introducing viruses into bodies; as I was down with viruses attacking my immune systems. I had to flush my system with ginger and water for straight one week. Wash your ginger and eat as much as you can during heavy bleeding . As I speak; I am completely healed of fibroid! It was after my first surgery in London; that my MFM Pastors told me then, not to return for a 2nd surgery; and after no one could interpret the invasive imagery scan I had in NY; I had 3!!! Nothing was seen ! So I knew this case was spiritual. Most fibroid cases are spiritual strongholds from abortions and fornications opens the doors to this wicked marine principality ; wicked blood sucking personality. I learnt a lot from my warfare and today; I am completely free from fibroid. I now even eat what I like. I did not use to eat white bread, white flour sugar, beef, so many things , but I could not stopped drinking my whole milk, as I love my tea, coffee and hot chocolate creamy. It was recently I even discovered that Milk is even good for you. I cut out carbohydrates completely. Today I am completely free from the evil bondage of fibroid!!! Hallelujah!!! It took me almost 12 years to fight the battle. When you are consistent with God; you always win!!! Shalom

Pls have your surgery done in Abuja where you can easily get help and comfort after surgery. The only grantee that fibroids will not reoccur after myomectomy is getting d uterus busy by getting pregnant. Anything aside this is pure luck and prayers. It is well with you. I pray Dr Jesus himself will use the hands of the surgeons and perform miracles and there will be no more history of reoccurrence after this one.
      Cheers...😍😍😍

  9. Poster, except if the fibroid is affecting you badly, I’d say do not do the surgery. Doctors that need money will always tell you to do surgery.

Regarding what your brother said, no doctor has the power to perform a fibroid surgery that won’t come back. It is all about the woman’s estrogen level (hormones).

It isn’t nice to have 2 fibroid surgeries especially if you haven’t had children before. This may affect fertility because of adhesions.
I am saying this from experience.

If your hormonal levels and diet are prone to increase fibroid growth few months after your second surgery, you will get more fibroid.

Take some time to clear your head. I’d advise you change your diet to help manage the fibroid growth.

Avoid all forms of red meat or frozen chicken. Eat only fish or seafood. Minimize the use of Maggie or any seasoning MSG cubes. Avoid sugar. Drink only natural fruit smoothies. Avoid milk or any estrogen high foods.

Start some form of simple exercises.

If I knew about alternate health management techniques I’d never have done the fibroid surgery I did.

    1. To add to the list of foods to avoid that anonymous 15:38 listed, the most important to stay away from as africans prone to the condition is okro. Okoro causes and worsens fibroid. That is one of the instructions handed over to my mother from her mother which was given to me and I also passed to my daughters.

      Delete
    2. Anon 15:38 her failure to remove the fibroid could be dangerous once the fibroid starts compressing her vital organs or nerves. It could also lead to hysterectomy when it becomes too attached to the uterine wall that the Drs will not have a choice than to remove everything including the fibroid and her womb..God forbid. If she's advised to take it out i think it's for her best interest.

    5. Please, don listen to this oh, remove it if you have been advised to, life first above all. Just prepare your mind that you might have difficulty in conceiving and plan for it, both in that partner you marry and financially. God can also help you conceive easily but focus on your health first.

  11. You didn't tell us your age. Please do it in Abuja. You might never be able to locate that doctor in the east, he might not even be alive. After the surgery change your life style as per eating.

Stay away from junks, heavy carbs, sugar, fried foods including white bread. Take more of veggies, fruits and natural green teas. God's got you.

  12. I had my Fibroid surgery in 2017 when I lived in Nigeria , it came back in 2019. I panicked and ran to the gynaecologist in the country I had moved to. She advised me not to do another surgery yet but try having children first since I was TTC. We worked on my hormones and I reduced stress, I got pregnant within 3 months. My fibroids did not grow throughout the pregnancy infact it reduced, I am getting ready for baby 2 now. Please before going for another surgery so fast, are you in pain? Fibroids grow back a lot please, unless it is affecting you badly, there are other options to reduce size such as birth control pills if you are not trying for a baby. Please get other doctors opinion.

I'm just praying that from now till the time that I'll be able to cater for a child financially, emotionally and otherwise, may God prevent fibroid regrowth in my life in Jesus name. Amen!

Poster, pls stay back where u can get support. Since you have had the surgery before, no one should tell you how important having support systems post surgery is. May God grant us healing and perfect health.

  20. I have had 4 myomectomy in usa...if u don't get pregnant it comes back. when I did my 4th one in 2020 where 19 was removed and 2 small ones left, I didn't wait for natural conception, 5month later I did ivf and had my child. I still had 2 fibroids and I changed my diet...ain't doing any myomectomy again.

  21. Dear poster, I don’t suggest that you do a second surgery yet if you haven’t given birth.Myomectomy causes scars and adhesions. Please, maintain a healthy lifestyle. Eat a lot of vegetables, drink a lot of water, eliminate bread, alcohol, sugar and sugary drinks. I wish you all the best.

  22. Your brother is convinced this thing won’t return if this guy does it. Unfortunately he is wrong. Do it Abuja
One thing others May know is the second fibrous surgery recovery time is usually not as bad as the first time. But you still need about a week to feel like yourself

Also if you can wait, I suggest you try to get pregnant first or at least save your eggs first. Chances are they’ll advise against doing egg retrieval if you have fibroids but ask your doctor first

    ReplyDelete
  23. For the poster to be asking for second surgery that means she is having crisis at the moment because if she was okay then nothing would have bring up all the talk of traveling down to the east for it to be removed. Since is causing you discomfort at the moment can I suggest you go on a family planning that will help you from seeing your monthly flow for now whole you work on your diet and trust God for a life partner.

Saying this cos fibroid doesn't go away if you didn't fall pregnant within 3 to 6 months it will come back on it own, I will advise you to stop the plan of taking it out till you have. Husband so that you can get pregnant immediately after the surgery and that will be bye bye to fibroid.

On a litter note I was told one can have fibroid removal via laser, I don't know if this one has a way to damage your reproductive cell or not. You should visit hospital in Abuja who does laser and discuss with them if they can take it out cos the procedure is done without opening.

Finally, remember when you are need people will advise you alot both what they can do and what they cannot do if they are wearing that shoe. Do not forget to hold God and change your diet. Google should be your best friend while you are trusting God.

  29. Poster, just like everyone has echoed, please do your surgery where you’d have most peace. I pray that your surgery is successful and that it gives you your health back.

I have heard that diet is a good way to manage the condition. I have also heard that laser surgery can be used to remove it and it is less invasive. However, the person that told me lives abroad and I don’t know if we have that technology in Nigeria.

I am quiet surprised to read that women who do the surgery go on to have follow up surgeries. Wow.

I was even considering going to remove mine. I recently discovered that I have 2 additional fibrosis after 2 children. I know I had one fibroid after my first child. But they are now 4. Hmm. Looks like I have to seek dietary ways to manage it.

Your post today has also helped me. Thank you.
