    1. This was one of my best Christmas ever. I hosted my neighbourhoods kids to a Christmas party. Lots to eat and drink plus gift for them. As I am still TTC,I pray God answers my prayers and make me celebrate next year Christmas with my twins. I have spent half of my salary already but it was worth it. To see the smile on their faces ! Abeg,January will sort itself out. Merry Christmas to all my blogfamily.

  2. Christmas before used to be so much fun with bangers everywhere but 🎇🎇 have taken over.
    😂🤣😹
One could easily afford Christmas stuff such as rice, tomatoes, broilers, clothings et al back then but things have changed drastically.
Prices have skyrocketed due to inflation and the economic downturn worldwide most especially in Nigeria isn't even helping matters a tiny little bit.
I rate this year's Christmas 5/10 for me
Nothing extraordinarily spectacular is happening truth be told
I went to the church and back home now
People travelled home but the whole place is not filled to the brim yet as others are still going to travel down this week

  4. I remember Christmas for my family, I mean with my parents and siblings where my parents would have to sweat to provide the basics. But it’s all changed now, the amount my parents got individually from their kids for just Christmas this year is just amazing. Told my mum that she would have to borrow me some money sef.

Christmas has been a blast for my family in recent years. Nothing like they used to have before. They even got a Christmas tree this year 😍😍😍.

Parents, pls invest in ur kids, I beg u. Don’t prioritize make kids over female kids, thank God my Igbo father never did that and yes, he’s reaping the fruit of the seed he sowed.

  5. When I was younger, we used to spend Christmas in DLBC Retreat at Ibandan campground. I didn't like it but my friends made it bearable, we never technically celebrated Christmas or anything like that.

As a single adult I haven't spent Christmas with my family for almost 10years as I left to country to study, and only used to go home during the long Aug/Sept break. I mostly used to spend the day with uni friends but now, I have moved cities thrice and have not had time or the space to build friendships. Most people here celebrate Christmas with family and the shops are all closed during Christmas, buses don't even run, so I'm used to being by myself on Christmas day. Just watch a movie, cook, eat, like a regular day for me, and after all it's just one day, isn't it?

A lady I knew told me her house was open for me if I wanted to come over, that she doesn't celebrate Christmas but I am welcome to visit. I thanked her for the offer and wished her a merry Christmas, then went to shower, intending to look at transport options when I got out of the shower, and decide how to make it to to hers or just decline if thee taxis were expensive, and go tomorrow boxing day instead. Only for me to get out of the shower and she had sent a snappy message, saying that from my response it's obvious I don't want to come to her house and it would only have taken me a few mins to stop by and to have a good day. I was surprised and had to go back to read my message, because where in my message did you get the idea that I didn't want to come? I was honestly planning to shower, get dressed, and check the price of taxid and then get back to her, which was why I only said "thank you for inviting me" and didn't continue the conversation further as I needed to use the bathroom. I thought of writing to explain myself but just didn't have the energy to explain myself or convince anyone today of anything (especially as a this woman has a history of jumping to conclusions about any little thing and I am always apologising) so I just didn't bother to respond, and I am currently watching a kdrama. I brought out chicken from the freezer and will amke stew afterwards, talk to my family, and just let today be today.

Merry Christmas and please ignore the typos.

    3. Avoid that lady for friendship please

      Acquaintance is the best

    4. Anon 18:18; y?

This is her point of view. The lady's point of view is not bad either

It's annoying sometimes when someone doesn't give you responses ontime the way you expected it.

Thanks for inviting me sounded a little vague. An emotional person will feel bad.

The way you people write off good people on the internet for NOTHING is unfair.

She could have tried to explain small in my own opinion. But seems her tayad was already tired somehow b4 the invite.

  10. God has been good notwithstanding the bad economy. I'm thankful that God spared my mum's life as He didn't allow the plans of the wicked over her to manifest. Didn't lose any member of my family this turbulent year. I will say it's a very good Christmas for me.

  12. Christmas was not exactly fun for me in my younger days. We never had much to spend. Getting a Christmas dress or even being able to eat chicken was luxury, and I remember a lot of Christmases when I didn't want to go to church on a day like this because I didn't have a new dress or shoe to wear like my friends/acquaintances.
I started enjoying Christmas towards the end of my university days.
Now I love Christmas so much, its my best time of the year, just that feeling in the air is enough for me.
This year's is different though, my wish for a white Christmas came true!! (Although this cold is making me want to run back to Naija, we can't even go to church today because hubby and I are not ready to go through the long process of clearing ice from our car and driveway). God and Canada came through for us. I'm positive this is only the beginning of Greater things for my family and I.
    Merry Christmas everyone.

  13. This Christmas is kinda quiet. Even the usual fireworks no too much like that( e be like say sapa get everybody too to buy fireworks). I prepped all my meals last night so that I finish cooking on time today, considering my son no dey let person see road for kitchen. I have shared food to my neighbour and want to lie down and rest before guests start trooping in. The best thing about today is the light. NEPA has been doing so well since last week.

    1. It is not sapa that took away fireworks but our Nigerian police. They now use the innocent parents to eat by arresting the kids for throwing banger

    2. Banga will sound by 31st and 1st..No police can stop it.

  14. On a bright, star-filled night with nearby sounds of restless oxen and a fatigued donkey, a young virgin mother bore a child. Little did the world know, this moment in time would change the course of history forever. You see, long before water was turned into wine and blind men were given sight, a miracle of far greater measure occurred: Jesus was born.

    Mary Christmas to you all⛄🎄
I pray you receive your Christmas miracle today. 🙏

  16. Christmas was fun while growing up. Fireworks, funfare , cheap prices of food and clothes, etc. Nowadays, children don't throw bangers like before because of police wahala. Prices of everything has gone up and no money like that in people's pockets.
For the past few years, I don't plan anything big for Christmas, I sew my clothes myself as I'm a tailor. I cook what I can afford and thank God for life.

This year's Christmas is the worst for me in terms abundance and material things but I am grateful for life and good health especially for my mum. Her illness took a toll on our finances but we still thank God.
I pray that she continues to be healthy and that illness should never come near her again.

I wish us all many more beautiful Christmases.

Concerning your question SDK, this year's Christmas is just there. No money to buy the necessary things. Am I sad? No, I'm happy that none of us have any cause to be locked up in cell, hospital or psychiatric home, none of my loved ones. I believe that as long as there is life, there is hope. I pray that next year 2023 will be better.

  20. Christmas is a special season. A season of joy.
This one is almost like last year's own. The only thing that is giving me plenty joy now is that I cooked jollof rice and packaged into disposable plates , I took them to the roadside and shared to beggars. I am so grateful God.
Merry Christmas SDK and blog visitors

  25. Christmas growing up was so fun.. We always travel and all extended family cook in same pot.. We usually kill GOAT on Christmas day and Turkey on 1st January.

My dad would buy 2 bags of rice. 1 for his mum. 1 for sharing less fortunate.
We only go out to watch masquerade. I don't really like going out but prefer to Stay home and read a novel..

The bickering to wash plate and do chores by the children na war..

Now, I cook and share my neighbors. My husband friends come around and eat soup. Today was white soup and semo..
