  11. My BIL who went to see it said he was put off by the excess adverts of her sponsors & brands she advertises for & some other unrealistic scenes. Maybe when it comes to Netflix, I'll watch it.

  14. The kinda grace this particular woman has is unexplainable.
Just like food seller who cooks rubbi$# but it's always sold out.
Her God loves her and may He continue to lift her.

But then again, for the sake of our mental health, Toyin please take time and give us a good movie.
Not everybody have your grace and some might slip into depression after seeing it. Please help us o...we love you.
    From your best fan.

    2. She truly has grace, no be for mouth.

    3. Everything is attributed to “grace” in Nigeria, even jazz. I’m not suggesting that’s what this person did but if most people & most movie critics are saying her movies are terrible, who is watching? The same Nigerians who say Garri is expensive? Time is a revealer of many secret things. I tried watching her movies from Alakada to The sequel to it and I couldn’t watch it for 10 mins. Mediocrity has its own market in a country of 200million people.

  17. I watched that movie and........ OH MANNNN!! The movie had some really explicit scenes for a Nigerian movie... The story line was OK. It had some core Yoruba cultural vibes ❤️👍👍. I'd give it a7/10

  18. I don't enjoy her movies. The ones on Netflix are just there. No need.

Well done all the same, Toyin.

  19. Congratulations Oluwatoyin. Not a fan but I like the fact that you are winning despite the bad reviews

  20. A lot of people are never objective in their assessment. It is not compulsory for you to love someone, if her film is that rubbish why is she making money and making ways into Netflix?

    1. Netflix does not allow public reviews and ratings of movies though they keep their in house analytics & know the “worthless” movies. Amazon prime video allows reviews so mediocrity will be exposed publicly with time.

This woman & many like her will never improve since mediocrity pays her. Their fans shut down critics ans if Oscar winners have no critics. Even the good ones like the one that recently released an Yoruba epic named after a late music icon thinks he deserves an Oscar for a decent movie, not an extraordinary one.

That’s what you get when society celebrates “ordinariness” and “used luxury cars” and townhouses with no public infrastructures are blasted on front pages of newspapers as achievements by “celebrities”! Interestingly the weak naira many complain about is what is “enriching” them. A brand new Mercedes or BMW loses a significant % of its value once it’s driven out of the dealership, Range Rover is worse. After every flood, hurricane & natural disaster the cars in that region are sold at nothing. You literally pay someone to haul a still working car from your house because you have limited garage spaces. I’ve sold squeaky clean luxury cars I bought brand new at next to nothing as new models come out every year. These ordinary events are splashed on the front pages of blogs & newspapers in Nigeria due to the impoverishment of the masses by bad government. It’s embarrassing.

    2. 17:11 this is why nigeria is so backward everything you’ve written is the truth and it’s getting worse by the day sometimes when I think of the future I shudder.

  22. Biko who are the ones watching her movies since y'all are giving bad reviews?

  23. I watched the movie. Nigerians van be terrible with thick Mindset. Even my nephew and sisters that don't like to watch naija movies went with me. And guess what? Nice film.

    1. “Our critics are the unpaid guardians of our souls”…Corrie Ten Boom (Founder, Salvation Army). Those who criticize her colleagues & her plus their sometimes not-so-good movies are not “terrible Nigerians with thick mindsets”. Even Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Angelina Jolie, Lupitha etc movies etc have passionate critics. You won’t find insults in the discourse reviewing the movies.

The day anyone thinks they have “arrived and are perfect” & I don’t know her or anyone in Nollywood to conclude that is the case, is the day the person stops improving. If folks pay hard earned money to watch any movies or go to cinema to watch her movies (I don’t live in Nigeria to be able to see it in the cinema, I see them on Netflix) people have every right to an opinion without being insulted as “terrible & thick”. It’s like reviewing an item you bought online or on-site, it’s done after every purchase on Google, Amazon, Yelp, etc. As a matter of fact many e-commerce businesses sample you to get feedback & welcome criticisms. Btw “Netflix makes more money on those mediocre movies since they have about 118 million subscribers, the cheap movies are easy to gain a profit on”. Public discourse can be qualitative without being insulting.

  24. I have never been to the Cinema to watch any of her movies, I think I saw the ghost and something and I was like this is horrible
To be truthful, If didn’t want to watch Funke movie too cause I was tired of her agbeero’s style and Sola Sobowale aggressiveness, so I settled for Toyin’ movie on the Ist of January and I can tell you I didn’t regret it. Well done Toyin though I am not a fan, I truly enjoyed Ijakumo.
