The question is did the man & the lady discuss about marriage before the sponsorship?
ReplyDeleteGbam
DeleteIf yes the woman becomes his wife
ReplyDeleteTrue she becomes his wife
DeleteHe is father Abraham.
ReplyDeleteWhy not? But it should not be binding and should allow the woman a free choice to decide her future.
ReplyDeleteYour brain Dey touch. I have a friend. Popular figure in Nigeria he’s not married till date after the lady he sponsored to school, married someone else immediately after her service. 17yrs ago. Dude almost died, because that’s his 1st relationship. Both of dem disvirgined themselves. He has two kids, but not married till date. If I say his name, every Nigerian go no am. No be bobo. Na person wey I grow up with.
DeleteAnd yes. They agreed marriage. But MIL stepped in and the rest na history.
DeleteIf they were dating and the plan was for them to be married, then the lady must stick to the plan. TSays
ReplyDeleteIf there is an agreement between the man and the lady that they'll get marry, then I see no reason why they shouldn't. Hope the man sponsoring is well educated as well, e get why.
ReplyDelete👌👌
DeleteIt depends on if there was an agreement before the sponsorship that she would get married to him after the sponsorship. If she didn't make such promise to him before the sponsorship, he shouldn't consider himself a worthy husband to her. Na charity work him do.
ReplyDeleteYes
ReplyDeleteWhy would you, as a lady let a man sponsor you in school when you have zero intentions of being his wife? That's pure wicked.
As long as there was an agreement from the onset, then I consider that a breech of contract. And we all know that breech of contract is a criminal offense, so you're a criminal.
Lol. The matter never reach this level now
DeleteIf a woman allows a man to be her sole sponsor through school with his intentions clearly stated from the onset, then it is a fraud and should have serious consequences if she does not marry him in the end.
ReplyDeleteSo wrong for a man to even contemplate this in his heart in the first place. I did that in the past and it didn't end well. I won't try that shit anymore.
ReplyDeleteFor the right person it isn't shit
DeleteIf there was an agreement, like a well stated agreement before he started and he didn’t turn out as an abuser or a cheater, why not? If she no come free afterwards, leave her for God or calculate ur investment and ask her to pay u back. Abeg u go force person to marry you?
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the agreement. The best option is to married her before sponsorship.
ReplyDeleteGbam!!! It might seem selfish but the truth is education and enlightenment changes people. My friend started feeling too big for her husband and manifesting some funny xters like that, if no be say na marriage with 3 children, everything for don cast after he has finished training her about 8 years.
Deletethis can be complicated..
ReplyDeleteeven if there is agreement at the beginning, people can change wit time and it is ok to change....
I have been married for more than ten years and one take I have on marriage is...
Never marry an unwilling person, no matter how much investment you have made...
''Never marry an unwilling person, no matter how much investment you have made...''
DeleteI love this.
Marry her first before sponsoring her education e get why.
ReplyDeleteNO! He is a worthy fool. People's priorities change as they grow. Her priority at 19 may be to get a good husband. At 23, she may outgrow that and see better priority in self development. Do you want to marry her? Marry her while in school and train her. Who says married ladies do not go to school?
