  7. Same nonchalant attitude of ignoring.
I transferred 12.5k , and it's successful, she has not bothered to acknowledge. With this even if I wanted to refund the whole extra 25k, I will not again.
It's annoying when you try to patronize someone and they take you for granted as if you can't go elsewhere. If she doesnt acknowledge the extra money I sent to her I will mot pat r noise her again. This is not the time for unbudgeted expenditure. Her bad attitude of not responding on time caused this unnecessary mistake

  11. Can you all imagine, my 80year old mother still wants to stay in the city rather than relocate to the village. She lives alone all by herself as she is a problem. No body can stay with her not even me. We are in different cities. I dash in and dash out. I.pay rent for her but i want her to move to the village where she has her siblings she has refused saying they will kill her. I am tired of paying rent couple with her nasty character.. We are not in the best of mother/daughter relationship. But i got to do my bits. Her rents is expiring this month, and i have pleaded with her to move home. She is running me down for prople. If she was a good woman why will she be alone at 80? Though still strong but extremely horrible and not accommodating
I am just here thinking how to cope until God calls her.. I know what i am passing through.

    3. E-hugs. Despite her personality the cold, stark reality of loneliness is too much for her soul to fathom. This is one of those times where you need to seek divine wisdom, because if you force her to go and something terrible happens your conscience may eat you away. Speak to other siblibgs and family memebers and get some different points of view to weigh.

    4. If she was a good woman, why will she be alone at 80?

What if she experienced several disappointment that made her bitter? Love on your mother be it from afar or near, when she goes, you will be filled with regret. Pay for her rent.

  16. I want to vent
I love my children, really I do
But oh my God, if I had to do it all over again, I would not be a mother. I would not get married. I would've remained single and child-free, maybe fostered a couple of needy children
See all that "motherhood is a woman's biggest blessing?" Na big lie please! Yes it's true for some but not all. I've realized I never even liked kids but I had kids because it was expected of me. Motherhood has come with nothing but anxiety, fear, and a loss of freedom for me. And my husband is a good man whom I love dearly but I miss my life pre babies and husband! I miss when I could enjoy girls nights, go on fun weekends away, trips, etc. I know I would be much farther in my career and education had I not married as early as I did. Right now I can't even shower without "mummy mummy".
To top it all, my nanny is moving abroad to join her husband. How am I going to cope? I can barely handle them with her around. I'm just not built for this marriage/motherhood thing, I'm not! I'm at my wits end!
As it is now, I cry every morning in the shower. I really hate my life. It's not bad one, but it's just not me. It's so mundane and boring. I can't talk to anyone because I'll get judged. Honestly if I had the opportunity to japa, leave everyone behind and start over, I would! I hate that I'm starting to resent my kids and husband. I thought it was just me so I googled and it turns out a lot of moms hate motherhood too.
So why does society-especially African society-make it look like it's the best thing to happen to women? Motherhood and marriage, that is?

    3. But the kids won’t stay young forever now. The more they grow up, they’re more independent. Take time to yourself and find yourself again. Start with Once a month outing for your mental health sake. Hope you’re not going through postpartum depression and anxiety because those are the signs and symptoms. Seek help and get as much support around you please. Support from church, family members, take time finding a new and genuine nanny. I’m exactly like you; i was the outgoing type too before having kids but since getting married (I resent/dislike my husband by the way), it’s been hectic, no nanny, my mom lives not too far away but she hardly help(dealing with an introverted mom is a story for another day). My dad doesn’t help at all. It’s expensive getting a nanny in abroad and we can’t afford one right now because hubby is in school. I have cried my eyes out as well especially when it gets to winter time it’s worse. Also went through postpartum but slowly getting out of it thank God. I bet you if you were single, you’ll be praying for a husband and a kid. You were meant to marry and have kids (they’re your blessing and with time you’ll know this). It’s your current situation and mental state of mind that’s making you feel this way. Please stay strong, get a massage if you can, deep breathing, take vitamins, workout and get as much sleep as you can because lack of sleep triggers depressed feeling! My sister and I talk about this and motherhood is not easyyy! It’s a full time job on its own. But remember, this too shall pass. They’ll grow up and move on with their lives so please create that nurturing bond with them because they grow up so fast. Take care of your mental health please. It’s very very important else you’ll continue to feel this way. You come first! Love and light 💕 💗

    4. Ps: find other mom friends and go out on playdate with your kids and that will give you time to bond with the mothers as well. Get out and allow the sun shine on you.

    12. Find a therapist and go to them.
Make time for something that involves only you, something that is just about you. Are you one of those who ended your friendships when you got married? I do not see why you cannot go out for a day of shopping, lunch and the movies with your girls. Even a once a year vacation. What would stop you from being able to do that, especially if you had a nanny all this time? Just remember in your children's eyes you are their everything. The unconditional love they will bestow upon you for about the first 12 years of their lives, no one else on earth is going to give to you. Use their unconditional love to propel and create more love in you, use it to water and nourish your soul. Even though childrwn take a lot, they are giving right back spiritually. Harness their love to create heaven on earth for yourself.

I love kids when they are adorable but what happens when they aren’t ? The society expects us to be nurturers , live for kids and husband but I want to be fearless, travel round the world , date younger men, make mistakes, learn from it, move , Have a common law partner and liveeee not just exist

I really, really needed someone to talk to. Even your comment, Dante, you made me laugh a little. You guys are right, maybe I should see a therapist. I know it's not normal how I feel and it's not as if I don't love them, I do. I love them so much. But I feel I suck at this marriage/motherhood thing. Sometimes I have fantasies of running away so that my husband can marry someone who is actually going to be the good wife he deserves and be the patient, loving mother my kids deserve. That's how bad it gets. I feel very inadequate. And yeah, marriage took me out of state so I lost touch with my old friends and with 2 toddlers and work and home stuff, I haven't really dedicated time to making new friends and all. Sometimes I feel if I ran away now, they're too young to remember me so it won't hurt them too much LOL. May God help me

    23. My dear Poster, I understand, my fear is after all the stress and love, when they are grown; they will go and bring evil spouses that add to the stress and grand children to cater for wahala! My siblings forced her to her grave because of greed! I am still mourning my mother and even as I am about to get married in my late 40s, I trust God for 1 child like Sarah in the Bible! I hate stress!!! So by God’s grace, I can tackle him/ her properly; so that foolishness will be far. Motherhood is stressful, being around my elder siblings with their battalions made me realize early in life that I would never make the mistake of rushing into marriage. I noticed how they always wanted to pass on their toxic liability of birthing like rabbits to others. I like my space and all the men that said, I must get pregnant before marriage, then I was not even born again, I told them to swerve. Now that I am in Christ, I am always full of joy! Is the Africans who never mind their business and evil siblings; insulting themselves, they have introduced their own children into the same life style of birthing anyhow. You will see a woman in Nigeria with one child complaining of not having more! Very useless society that believes having world population is a blessing. Abraham and Isaac are my standard in the Bible , now one pikin them born. Shikena.

    24. Yea you’re definitely going through postpartum depression. Feeling like running away, crying a lot, feeling exhausted all points to postpartum plus you now moved to another state with no friends?? Madam you try oo. I always advise women to space their kids because having kids back to back is tough and mentally and physically exhausting. Unless you have maximum support from friends, family and a good nanny then it’s doable. Are you able to invite your mom or sibling to assist. Seeing a familiar face will help. Also talk to your husband how you’re feeling and how he can be off support. And get help ASAP. Don’t wait so it doesn’t get worse.

Do you know the pressure we men face daily? Even with the financial situation of the country presently, do you know that slot of people don't care and would still be stressing you for money cos you're a man.. not to talk of the ones married men face..

Don't ever bring your women victim Shui around me ok? And don't ever tell me to keep quiet, I'm not those guys you talk to without manners.. senseless girl

      @poster
Have you seen desperate housewives? I saw it when I was much younger, when that lady have birth to triplet and they kids wanted to drive her crazy,. How she drove off one day wanting to run away from the kids etc etc all these gave me a picture of how children can be early,. You have to be mentally ready for them before bringing them in.. it takes a lot of sacrifices to train them..

      Good luck

Always feeling pressured by their mundane men and equally mundane society?
It's absolutely normal not to want to get married or have children.
But since Nigerians have nothing else to add to the development and transformation of the world but their provlivity to birth like rabbits, they consider it odd.
The last thing I will ever do is allow my opinions, dreams and aspirations be validated by Nigerian society, when I'm not mad.

  25. Hey poster, not all women resent their kids,I feel so happy seeing my boy playing in the sitting room, the happiest day in my life was the day I gave birth to him..I pray for him every morning when he wakes up with joy in my heart, pls play with ur kids nd love them..

    1. The poster is not the first person who has stated this. But the topic is very taboo so very few openly talk about it. You don't see many rich women nowadays don't even carry any more, they pay surrogates, cause they can't be bothered by the hormonal issues. And childbirth still remains a high risk experience that even those in well developed countries die from. But she dislikes being married too, so the entire thing is burdensome for her. Should she have remained a free woman? Choosing to be a free woman in Nigeria is tough, because there is no respect for free women.

I am glad you are enjoying your choice to pursue motherhood. I cannot imagine how the poster must feel. Please lift up her spirit in prayer.

  26. This is the worst period for people who sell non edible items in this naija. Most people just want to eat ,have small cash to go to work, buy small food items and survive.
It’s now like a survival of the fittest.

  28. Imagine paying for fruits via transfer and the madam is calling to tell me she hasn't seen the money. Opay said successful but the woman relies on her bank alert. I kukuma told her is her bank network. This forceful and stressful policy is terrible.

  30. Never thought I would live to see the day where I have a job I love so much, that I get excited about Mondays and can even working on day offs easily. Yes, we will all see miracles if we live long enought. Thank God for shocking my azz.

It's a snowstorm Friday and I think some hot chocolate is in order. Wish I had someone to annoy and wrestle for the blanket. But grateful for health and opportunities.

Where are my summer body folks at? Who is working on their summer body already?

All I can say is don't stop seeking and stay committed to lifelong learning. God has no care about earth people time, there is only one time in this universe that matters, and that is God's time. I know I will live to read both your testimonies.

  33. For the BV who resents motherhood, don't worry stress of parenting kids isn't permanent. They'll soon be independent and you'll begin to miss caring for them.
Make friends with mothers who have young kids and hang around them with the kids together.

I did enjoy my pregnancies and children growing up. Looking forward to having grandchildren.

    2. I understand post partum depression is real, that's why the early tradition of family staying around a new mother to take care of her and baby still works. Helps post partum depression.

Please who knows how I can get my money back? I am so troubled by it. I did it to support a friend who worked there at the time but has long resigned.

    1. So not even half they paid back, this is 1 yr now? What kind of hardship cause all your money to japa. Please seek help from the body that overseas financial institutions in your country. Go and file complaint.

I was reading that a bank in the US crumbled. Please, never invest money to help nobody, what if trouble reach you and need your money? Where is the person who you did it to help now? They can't even help you to get 80% of your money back. Times are too tricky for speculation these days. Big tech is taking a massive hit and even the billionaires are losing big, how much more the small ppl. Please pray without ceasing.
