CBN's Funny Proposal On Dormant Accounts In Nigerian Banks

The Central Bank of Nigeria has proposed that banks should transfer funds in accounts that have been dormant for up to 10 years into a trust fund account. This is contained in the recently released exposure draft of guidelines on the Management of Dormant Accounts, Unclaimed Balances and Other Financial Assets in Banks and Other Financial Institutions In Nigeria.

So my question is, who will inherit these monies they want to put in this alleged trust fund?

  2. Smh, what's their business with people's money, they are always looking for a way to defraud the masses.
Why not create a policy where by the bank can contact the next of kin for any dormant account that's up to 10 years...so that the next of kin can inherit it.
