Four of the remaining 11 kidnapped students of the Federal Government College in Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State, have been released.
A notorious bandit, Dogo Gide freed them and two babies after the payment of an unspecified ransom, reportedly in millions.
A notorious bandit, Dogo Gide freed them and two babies after the payment of an unspecified ransom, reportedly in millions.
The kingpin had issued a list of conditions the state government must meet before the remaining girls could be released.
Two of the released teenagers returned with the babies they delivered while being held hostage, according to PRNigeria.
In January, the parents of the victims begged Nigerians to help raise money to get the girls out. They were among at least 100 taken in June 2021.
An open letter signed by Salim Ka’oje and Daniel Alkali disclosed the abductors had demanded N100 million for the teenagers aged 12 – 16 years.
The urgent public appeal followed the Kebbi authorities’ alleged reluctance to accept the demands made by the captives.
One mother of a kidnapped victim passed away in November 2022, days after receiving news of her daughter becoming a mother in the terrorists’ den.

ReplyDeleteWhich govt? D same govt that let those young girls down? imagine wat those girls have been thru,d torchure, physical, emotional and sexual abuse.God,pls help them heal.Nigeria is a failed state since securing lives is no longer a priority.determining who ends up as APC and PDP flag bearer at d primaries is more important to them.dis same no geria, assu were on strike and party primaries was more important.shall we talk about Leah? Tha remaining chibok girls?lord have mercy on us.as a mother, this is so painful.and I wonder what can be done.
DeleteMay peace elude them. Evil shall never depart from him and his family and his cronies. May the monies they collect as ransom judge them. May the water they drink from the money judge them. May the ground upon which they walk judge them. And may the terror of the Lord rest upon them. May they experience what they have dished to other people. There is no peace for the wicked. These wicked people will never know peace. And so shall it be.

ReplyDeleteLike I keep on saying, paying Ransome is never an option. They just paid to better equip the bandits.
ReplyDeleteWill you leave your female child in captivity??? Na poverty l blame. I’d only the parents had money, their daughters wouldn’t have been in this situation. If l had the money, l would have paid for them to be released before this unfortunate development.
DeleteMay this terrorists never have peace.i can't imagine what this girls have been through as a mother'. God please heal them.
ReplyDeleteVery heart breaking, forcefully turning promising teenagers into single mothers? They need serious therapy to reintegrate into the society properly
