Crooner Adokiye used to be so popular and controversial.... Her fame was so loud when she offered her alleged Virginity some years back to Boko haram in exchange for some Kidnapped Ladies....

Unfortunately her offer was not taken up by BH and soon after she fizzled out of the news..In this post she explains why and also talks about her new look

Why have been silent Adokiye? I remember you were so popular and I could not stop posting stories about you

- I haven’t really been silent. I still make people happy, Perform my Entertainment Duties by Entertaining people the best way I can. Yes I may have been off the Raider and that’s because I left Nigeria for a bit now. I look forward in going into the studio again, I have just been settling right and good, not gotten my way around the right Team here in the United Kingdom(England), now I am speaking to a few and it’s looking like Adokiye will hit the Raider sooner than we expected.

 Why did your change from looking like a woman to looking like a man? 

I have always been a Tomboy. Those who are close to me growing up and even the few I worked with in the early days in Entertainment Industry in Lagos can testify I have never really been able to work it perfectly as a woman dresser. I have always been a girl who loves dressing like a guy. The ones who worked with me those days, Knew my struggle to appear as a woman or to even have make ups on, wear heels and appear to be “The perfect woman”. I remember returning back from shows and events, how I would fling out everything I was wearing, drag out every lashes put on me, rush in the bathroom and wash off every make up from my face because I was practically getting suffocated and need to breathe. The truth is I was never Comfortable being that way, It was almost as if the Society wanted me to appear like a sexy woman because I am a woman, most especially it looked then as if you won’t “Blow” in music or in the entertainment Industry if you don’t look sexy as a woman, I’m talking about Times before the likes of Teni made it. The society was like “Oh yeah, you are a popular woman, so then, what you have to offer”? You know that Remarks? Yes, these were the things I struggled with, I was very confused as to how to be perfect for the public but like I said, those that knew me years before the fame knew I was a Typical Tomboy who loves to dress like a guy.

Anyways, I couldn’t deal with the whole Lost of identity anymore, so I took a break to Rejuvenate and Rediscover myself, after I was strong and bold enough and thought I have finally deserved and earned to be who I wanna be, I mean to be my True self. I wasn’t scared anymore to be the real Adokiye but needed to Reintroduce myself majorly. So I released a song and video “Xtra” music Video. Where from beginning to end was my real self and identity to the public.
I guess it was embraced widely and everyone understood how perfectly I was with my Actual image and identity
Most importantly. This Adokiye is Confident, Strong, Powerful and Intelligent. I am me and will always be me.

Will you ever sing again?

The Entertaining Adokiye will never go away. Though this Adokiye is more Refined and better. The Always and forever Global and International Adokiye will be back with a sweet Sound


Why did you relocate

It was getting too Limiting. I had to broaden up and get more Knowledge but I love Nigeria and I miss Lagos.
