Who told you they lived happily? Go and ask plenty senior citizens to tell you the stories and drama from the polygamous families they came from. Even the junior citizens have a lot to say. Make una dey play........... Building castles in the air.............

ReplyDeleteMen know the women were not happy. The thing is ‘men don’t care’. Never have, never will. All they need is the ability to ensure they can walk away from any strife or noise.
Before, they had large compounds; now everyone fits in smaller abodes. Things are also more expensive. So only the truly rich men can run that model and be at peace, while the women fight it out.

The thing is the women had no choice than to manage anything they see there. Divorcees were shunned and labelled "stubborn", "promiscuous", "can't stay under a man". In the present day, being a divorcee isn't that bad if you respect and behave yourself, women are now bold to walk away from marriages that don't favour them.

There has never been a time women enjoyed polygamy. The women and children involved had so much emotional bottled up scares.
