Late Crooner Mohbas Wife Wunmi Reveals Why Her Father In Law Does Not Like Her

Omowunmi Aloba, the wife of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has revealed why she became estranged from her father-in-law.

She explained that Mohbad’s father believed that she was driving a wedge between him and Mohbad, which led to their strained relationship.
Testifying before the Lagos croner inquest on Tuesday, Omowunmi revealed that her relationship with her father-in-law, Oladimeji Aloba, deteriorated after the birth of her son, Liam.

She told the coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, that Mohbad’s father became upset with her because Mohbad decided not to hold Liam’s naming ceremony in Ikorodu.
She said, “I used to have a very good relationship with my father-in-law before the birth of my son, Liam. In fact, I used to invite him to our house on many occasions.

“But because Mohbad was angry with him over some of the things he was doing and his refusal to hold our son’s naming ceremony in Ikorodu, he became angry with me, thinking I was the one behind it all.

“So he became my enemy and was not talking to me like before.”

  1. Let the girl grieve in peace. My opinion may not be popular, but this is a young widow. This African mentality of suspicion towards widows when their husbands die is appalling. I am a widow myself. I know the struggles I faced. Still fresh after 15 years. What will she stand to gain by killing her husband.
Online in-laws too asking for DNA, etc.
    She lost a spouse.
I pray she finds peace and comfort.

    1. Thank you for the above comment. They should let this young girl grieve in Peace! Its not easy being a widow. Moreso, the husband died suddenly. Not like an illness that progressed over time! In which case you have time to process the eventuality of the situation! Widowhood is not easy. You continually process the life after and how you will survive and be fine. Nigerians are not kind to widows at all. I wish this young lady well.

    2. In some Nigeria tradition, when a man dies the wife is the number one suspect, in fact, to some of the late husband family, she is the killer, but when the wife die eh, it is believed she died a natural cause. May God help us in this country. Thank you for your comments the two anon 👆.
