Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative

  Hmmmm....

NARRATIVE ONE
ADVICE NEEDED

Please I need advice...I have a sibling who is not too stable and has no work.. Maybe because of what he takes I don't know... but am I supposed to give the sibling money every month? He actually helps my aged parent, since he is unable to function;we took him to rehab but no improvement...
Am I to place him on monthly stipend and how much please?( my sibling threatens to commit suicide becos of no money, but we provide for our parents well)

Awwwwww..Please give him money monthly if you can afford it...not too much and not too little...
If its too much he might resort to the thing again, maybe you can give between 10-20k monthly since its just for upkeep..please do, not having money is not a good thing.....God bless you for this but please dont overdo it with the giving oooooooh...One month you can give 20k and the next month 10k and then next month less......

NARRATIVE TWO
BAD FEELING

I am a teacher and I earn between 450000 and 700000 naira monthly. I have come a long way from when I used to earn 35000 naira monthly. I am 32 years old, but each time I see anyone around my age earning higher than I do, I begin to unconsciously feel as though I am not doing well enough. I keep trying to encourage and remind myself of how well I have done. How do I overcome such feelings, please?

Four hundred and fifty thousand to seven hundred thousand naira monthly as a teacher?Am i reading the amount well or not? Anytime you see anyone earning higher than you, you feel bad? And do you feel good anytime you see anyone earning lower? Make i read advice cos I am in shock... I didnt even know that teachers earn up to 200k sef....

  2. Poster 2, are you sure you actually want to write #450,000-700,000 or #45,000-70,000, if you truly mean the first, then you have witchcraft and serious envy in you. There's no crime in wanting more, but feeling sad about people doing above you is witchcraft. And how do you feel when you see people older than you earning less than 10% of your income? If you feel happy or fulfilled about this, you need serious deliverance from the bondage of envy and contentment

    2. Poster 2 you need counseling. I suspect you may have suffered a lot to get to where you are and experienced a lot of discrimination along the way, that may have affected your self esteem to translate doing well and being successful into how much you earn. I don't know what religion you practice, but the Bible says godliness and contentment is great gain. You need to adopt positive affirmations to help change your mindset. When you wake up in the morning thank God with gratitude for the breath of life and tell yourself that you are enough and any other nice thing you want to, you deserve it. You're okay, once you have the basic necessities of life, good health and can still even help others.

    3. Teachers earn high, I work in one of the biggest schools in Portharcourt and d minimum paid is 200k. Teachers earn as high as 400k. And most teachers brag that they charge 20k to 50k per contact for extra lessons. I am an accountant and I have even told hr that I will apply when there’s an accounting teachers opening,

  9. Poster 2, please stop comparing yourself to others. Ask yourself why when you meet a teacher who is earning 50k you don’t feel bad about yourself. Have you mistakenly tied in income earning to the worth and value of a person. Do you automatically judge ppl based on their income? You are the same person who used to earn a low income. Earning more has increased your spending power and that is all.

In everything in life there will be ppl above and below you. Learn contentment. If you are motivated to improve your earnings then let that be inspired from within, not out of competition or the spirit of craving. If you keep concerning yourself with others who have more, you are going to be very tired in this life and miss out on enjoying your journey.

  10. Poster 1
What did he take?? Does he smokes??? He threatens to commit suicide if you didn't give him money, take him to rehab if you really want to help him. I guess the money you are giving him he may spend it on whatever you said he takes. That thing he takes may render him useless if care is not taken as he is already having thought of suicide.

Poster 2.... Those people you think that earn more than you , let that be a motivation for you to think ahead and work harder instead of comparing yourself with them.
The pay sometimes depends on the experience etc.

  11. poster one place that your sibling on monthly salary from 10k to 20k per month. some time you can pay the person 10k and say no money but make sure that at least 5k comes into that person's account on monthly basis. If you don't have one naira life will be meaningless for you not to talk about someone who is not in a city. You guys should keep praying for that your sibling and see what God will do.

Poster two did you mean 45k abi 70k cos i don't think teachers earn such amount of money every month. If you are feeling that way that means you are a witch for feeling bad when people earn more than you do. Good things cannot happen to you alone all the times, rejoice when others are making it in life. You need deliverance from the spirit of witch craft.

    1. Hey Anonymous you are wrong, Teachers at Greenspring's, AIS, Daywaterman College, Corona, Atlantic Hall, Lekki British International school, British International school, Grange, Lagos preparatory school Ikoyi, St Saviours Ikoyi, and many more elite schools, teachers here earn this much . But we collectively agree this pay band is uncommon amongst schools and teachers in Nigeria. Which sadly, shouldn't be so. Teachers should be well paid.

Dear Poster, while it is ok, to aspire to be continually better, infact it is encouraged, however be grateful for where you are , if not you would never be happy. Because even if or when you start earning like 1 million else where for example, be assured that in this same Nigeria, someone else is earning 3 million naira may be not as a teacher and some one else is earning above the person earning 3 million naira and on and on it goes. Life is in stages. Be happy for yourself, you are still doing very well, at the stage you are right now. So Live in your present and in the moment, even while you aspire for the better tomorrow, if not you would wake up and find u ve become an insatiable scrooge.

Poster 2 there is no sin in wanting and yearning for more, however, be grateful for where you are while pushing to be where you want.
And like the anon above me said, there will always be an age mate who has more money than you do regardless of how much you earn, know this and know peace.
N.B:, you are earning above the average your age mates earn in Nigeria.

  18. Poster, don't mind everyone. Its okay to feel this way. That is your mindset letting you knw that if someone can earn more, you too can earn it.

Just channel it into a positive thing. Let it motivate you to work harder to earn more.

What you should avoid is envying or hating the person because they earn more. Just befriend them, be genuinely happy for them and let them motivate you.

I know this because i am like you too. But I have NEVER hate anyone who earns more than me. I use it to fuel myself that if they can earn that much, I can. And guess what....this drove me to start earning N1 million (before tax) daily. Yes....before tax!

Poster 2, i am a lawyer, i have been a federal prosecutor for 10yrs, meaning i work with federal govt, n my take home is 220k but i am so happy, there is nothing i would tell God except Thank you. Alhamdulillah. If you know how many people benefit under this 200k u go shock, and i don’t do bad at all. The key point is gratitude. Do i see other govt agencies that pay more? Dfntly yes, but i al grateful for mine. Cos i know many ppl we graduated wt that are still jobless. In all, always give thanks.
