The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced plans to sell a 753-unit housing estate forfeited by embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, as part of assets recovered from him through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development confirmed on Tuesday that it had taken possession of the property, located in Abuja, following a formal handover by the EFCC at the Ministry’s headquarters in Mabushi.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Salisu Haiba, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Ministry. From Vanguard
Except the government does it's due diligence to ensure that no one pays for multiple houses from accounts with the same BVN, nothing stops Emiefele from buying those houses back using fronts.
ReplyDeleteThe guy has more than enough money stashed outside the country.
753 houses! One man! It will make sense if he will live for 753 years. That's the only way such mindless thievery can be understood.
True words ππ½
DeleteVery true.

DeleteHello iya Boys
Aptly written.
DeleteNa 9ja we dey
Only in Nigeria can such happen and the culprit go free. Lets watch ad see how the auctioning would end.I'd bet the so called govt officials would share/sell the evil proceeds amongst themselves.
ReplyDeleteCorrupt lots !!!
Yeah. It's just a change of ownership. From one corrupt politician to another.
DeleteJust imagine if these buildings are actually developed by the Government and given to FG workers under a deductible salary housing scheme.
It would greatly reduce the housing crisis in Abuja.
But No! Our politicians only care for themselves
We're really "burying" corruption
DeleteHi, Nocππ»
How much is it? i want to buy
ReplyDeleteThe more you look, the less you see. πππ
ReplyDeleteThe politicians will still be the ones to share it amongst themselves. This is Nigeria and anything can happen.
ReplyDelete753-unit housing estate! Nne na wa o for these people.
ReplyDeleteI like this a lot that politicians are looting us dry.
ReplyDeleteUntil Nigerians learns to take God seriously, and look to Him for help, politicians will not stop shortchanging them.
He'll front again and use the account of his fellow politicians. What average Nigerian can avoid those houses this season?? Haha..π€£
Even his picture Stella used sef had depicted how the matter will go
ReplyDeleteThey should rename it KJV Estates
ReplyDeleteThose are the homes they seized from him. He probably still has hundreds more. His fellow corrupt officials also have hundreds. That is why real estate is overpriced in Nigeria. Free money cannot compete with hard earned money. Until they stop corruption, real estate will continue to be overpriced as he could have put 500 houses on the market for N1billion each since he paid zero for them.
