Suspended Governor Fubara Reportedly Meet With FCT Minister Wike

As part of ongoing reconciliation efforts, the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara, has met with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
The meeting reportedly held at Wike’s residence in Abuja.

Fubara was led by Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru and Olusegun Osoba, a former governor of Ogun.

On getting to the residence, it was learnt that Fubara “walked straight into Wike’s living room because that’s a familiar terrain” and he begged the Minister.

When Daily Post sought confirmation from an insider who wished to be anonymous, he said: “There was a meeting and I can confirm that.”
On the meeting leading to the end of the state of emergency, he added: “That I can’t confirm but all I know is that there was a meeting.”

This is coming after the meeting between Fubara and President Bola Tinubu in London
Fubara and Wike fell out shortly after the former became governor in 2023.

  4. Na was for this Fubara. Why start a war you were not prepared for? The conditions for this reconciliation will be greater than the initial agreement they had.

  10. Is better you don't accept any gift from the devil. Because devil will always ask for more. Wike is acting like the devil here, very stubborn man.

  11. He's slowly learning. His sins are many and are black and white impeachable. A supreme court judgement stating clearly he demolished the house of assembly and is a despot? Baba Akande should also see the house members and and play the same fatherly role, placating them. As Wike said, Fubara has to beg those parliamentarians, elders like Okocha and others rubbished by political contractors that sold the suspended governor false hope. If Wike says they should forgive and they don't, he won't abandon them now. 16 months of no salary, weekly insults, near demolition of their housing complex, sending them an entire budget by WhatsApp while delegating correspondence to his inferior, not replying official releases then attempting to force his way into the legislative premises while on his way to another project, unwisely stating in public health would hold the whistle for asawana and keeping mum and taking no action when when the boys he told same started. Asawana never quiet now? Everybody never enter house? Even whistle blower never gentle? Yet his unseriousness with process cost them another 6 months in suspension. All these are a few of the obvious sins with no previous signs he will behave if forgiven. They won't trust him again. The past LGA chairmen who were first affected are loyal sons of the family too.

Fubara is the type that will start campaigning tomorrow under sentiment and the same people who claim he was rigged in, would continue to push him to invite urchins with explosives till they will claim he was rigged out again.

I pray for more wisdom for this current crop of elders involved. It seems only a clear conviction after impeachment is what they want to hear now and they have the cards. Inas himself is feeling at home since the vestiges of Fubara's free for all are still paying for rallies and the man is still at home, not reaching out till now. It is well.
