Actor Patrick Doyle Shades EX Wife Ireti In New Interview

Actor Patrick Doyle confidently brags about his own achievements and legacy,in a new Interview and dismissed the notion that he is defined by ex-wife Ireti Doyle.
He also questions why she has not dropped his name and drops hints of what may have led to the marriage crash....
The Interviewer too didnt give him breathing space to relax..LOL

Interviewer: your ex wife is more popular than you how do you feel about that?

‎Patrick: I have been popular since I was 16 how long has she been around? I have been around for 45 years and I am still around. I was a superstar at the age of 16, a champion debater. I debated against Yemi Osinbajo

‎Interviewer: How does it feel like being defined by her

‎Patrick: I cannot be defined by her. My body of work is too solid to be defined by anybody living or dead.

‎Interviewer: so when people say Patrick Doyle..oh that's Ireti former husband.

‎Patrick: why is it popular ? why didn't that person change her name after the end of the marriage?

‎Interviewer: But you cried then, we were all pitying you.

‎Patrick: pity what? I have a 33 years old younger woman. The person who is 33 years younger listens to the person who is 33 years older and the person who is 33 years older is not a bully.

    1. No please! If the interviewer was unprofessional, then as a doyen, Uncle Patrick could have still responded maturely....Patrick had a brief stint on TV for your info so this is no excuse at all...

    4. That Interviewer have never been known to ask his guests sensible questions. Always asking his guests yeye questions accompanied with dry laughs. He tried that with Kehinde Bankole she gave him bombastic side eyes

Patrick Doyle too pack 90% of the blame very bitter man that doesn't want to accept nobody send his 45 years in Nollywood. Till tomorrow nah still Ireti Doyle ex husband I dey remember him as

    6. This St Phoenix Elsewhere how old are you again? Hahaha.
Your comments are good but sometimes eh, what😯

Please, first of, Patrick Doyle didn't have a "brief stint" in television, Patrick is actually the face of television. The face of compèrè. Second to only late Mr Nduaguba. Ahead of Late Femi Segun and then Mr Ebere Young.

He is good and smooth. His best MCing was the launch of new N50 naira notes in 1991 during President Babangida regime. The accolades thereafter?

Some 34 years ago? Now, take that out of Ireti's 50+ of age. So they're not in same level at all.
Doyle is a trademark. Julius is not.

Issue btw, I learnt is he's too LAGOS. Man loves an easy life and sulky conservative Ireti thought she could "tame" him.

Like seriously? You wanna tame a Lagos big boy? Nobody ever did. Hmph!

Better they divorced before Patrick goes bananas. Man hates nagging of any magnitude and displayed shocking elements. Ireti took a walk outta the door. Utan!
      Capisce?🤨

    8. The age brought in means the commenter St Phoenix is quite young not to know Patrick when he was reigning

  3. I used to think he had sense, and then I watched the interview on IG. I mean, breakups/divorce happens, but shading your ex at any chance you get, just shows you are bitter and you haven't moved on. Someone called him Israel's big brother 🤣

Do you know what they've been through?

The criticism, the burials, the mockery, the snares and all of that.

I can bet he breaks down in tears remembering the ex wife Ireti.
      It's not easy.

The young 33yr old has to listen to her father.
Ireti probably wanted a friend who she will discuss with and be able to express herself.

This interview was done in bad taste. Life is not a competition. Live in your lane and do what you need to do. And if the marriage packs up, you move on.

    The interviewer though....

The tawaiii tawaiii on your rosy red cheeks stops when a woman has had it up to her rating. Enjoy your 33 years younger till she changes ATM pin then kicks yo miserable ass out of the home she is running.

  19. Some level of intelligence and decorum is usually expected from some people, especially considering their ages. It's usually disappointing when these seems to be lacking. Uncle Patrick shouldn't be sounding like this honestly. And i don't think the interviewer is ok, because what kind of questions were those?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Childish I must say
    Must you shade your ex
    Grow up man 🤣

    ReplyDelete
  21. She's bitter and a bully but we all saw how much you tried getting back to her initially when she broke up with you, you were all over her, calling her sweet name and so, now that it's obvious she isn't coming back, you resorted to this cheap name calling. Very typical

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Doesn't mean she was all that.
I begged and cried for my ex to come back after we broke up even though he was a monster.
I just was in a very fragile state of mind and was traumatized.
Now that I have healed, I can't stand being in same room as him.

  24. Women should please drop their ex-husbands names once a divorce is finalized. Even Melinda Gate has reverted to Melinda French and most of us are getting used to that. Stop letting men like this feel their name is the name above all names! Trash the name and renew your maiden name with pride.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Or stop changing their names to theirs in the first place.

  25. Many so called journalists in Nigeria are very unprofessional. This was no interview. It was a petty insulting exchange between two people. Yes Patrick Doyle has been around for a very long time and Ireti’s name recognition was initially from the Doyle name before she established herself with her good acting skills. She was his first wife’s friend as well. Nigerian Gen Zs are incapable of any research even on google beyond sex, fashion and music. Patrick’s established name on the Nigerian entertainment scene helped Ireti, I’m sure she won’t deny it but the name can only give access, her skills cemented her name in nollywood.

As a woman, I also wonder why many women who claim they are upset to the point of divorcing a man still keep the man’s last name. Regardless of the bureaucracy involved. I mean divorce is bureaucratic enough. Change to your old last name after all your Dad raised you and deserves to have his own name take the glory for who you have become.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. So why do a name change in the first place?

      Delete
    2. Ireti's acting skills got her the recognition before she got married to Patrick Doyle.

It's true Patrick Doyle has been around for some decades and made a name for himself in the entertainment industry early. HOWEVER, IRETI's acting prowess made her stand out without the name, Doyle.

Go back to her past acting roles and verify..

    3. Anon 23.35, what name did Ireti go by prior to marrying Patrick Doyle? Facts matter, in the Nollywood of 25 to 40 years ago, Ireti was not recognizable like Genevieve, Omotola, Ini, Rita, Ego Boyo etc.
As a Nollywood consumer in the 90s and 2000s, I knew most of the actors in the days of part 1-7 VHS tapes, lol.

I also watched almost every sitcom from “Cock crow at Dawn” to “Behind the Cloud” to “Checkmate”, to “Village Headmaster”, “New Masquerade” etc. I don’t recall her being known prior to marrying him. Not everything about a broken marriage must be gender detracting or taken as negative. Melissa French benefitted from being Bill Gates wife, but her reasons for the divorce are valid. It does not detract from what she benefited or remove her core competencies. ✌🏾

    4. Gbam! Who knew Ireti before Patrick? 🤔. Apparently, many of you here are too young to know. Patrick was one of the pioneers of late night shows in Nigeria. That was before Dstv came. Friday nights were not complete without his show. Most of the top entertainers had to go through his Friday night show to blow. Stella tell these youngins what’s up please. If not for condition wey make crayfish bend, Patrick Doyle should be the face of late night shows in Nigeria. I wonder where he got it wrong. By the way, why should a woman with self respect continue to keep an ex husband’s last name? It makes no sense.

  26. She has every right to keep to the name as long as she want Mr Patrick. You sounds so bitter.

    1. Anon 22.03 Thank you.👍🏾 Some even argue based on their limited knowledge and rarely conduct basic online research. Patrick WAS the one known. He was a top shot at NTA in the days when NTA was the “it” avenue for entertainment as there was no internet and prior to YouTube, SM, and the internet.

  28. The interview questions weren't professional but Patrick Doyle's answers were petty.

One thing that struck me the first time I saw Patrick Doyle several years ago was his appearance - unkempt, untidy. I was SHOCKED!
He wore this faded/worn-out *'it was white'* vest men wear as an inner wear as as a Tee-shirt. 😳🫢

  29. Mr. Doyle it's time to move on and leave Ireti alone! This constant pettiness doesn't suit you - surely you are above this. If you haven't noticed, Ireti rarely even responds to your constant jabs. That silence says more that words ever could!!
