Farmers in Augie Local Government Area of Kebbi State have reportedly received threats from terrorists believed to be members of the Lakurawa group, warning them against replacing traditional cattle-driven farming methods with mechanised equipment.
According to reports by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the terrorists warned that anyone found using mechanised tools in place of cattle for farming would be executed. The warning has triggered fear and panic among residents of affected communities, many of whom had begun shifting to modern farming techniques in response to ongoing cattle rustling in the region.
Two decomposed bodies of victims of the devastating flood that swept through Mokwa town, headquarters of Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State, on May 29, were recovered on Thursday. The Director General, Niger State Emergency Management Agency, Abdullahi Baba Arah, confirmed the recovery of the two bodies.

A 33-year-old bricklayer, identified simply as Taiwo, lost his life after a fence he was erecting around a church in the Alapere area of Lagos State collapsed on him. It was learnt that the incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Saturday, while the bricklayer was working on the structure.
