After an extraordinary 22-year journey, Footballer Onome Ebi has officially retired from international football, and she leaves behind a mindblowing legacy as the oldest Super Falcons player and the longest-serving Nigerian footballer in the male or female category.
Onome is the First African footballer to play in six FIFA Women’s World Cups (2003–2023)
She is also a 4-time WAFCON champion, and has played for clubs across Nigeria, Sweden, Turkey, Belarus, China, and Spain.
Her Farewell Message on her 42nd birthday she wrote
“I pledged and served with all my heart 🇳🇬💚. Thank you. HIP HIP HIP, HURRAY!”
