INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD
My princess birthday is in a few days and I have been reminiscing about my birthing experience with her. This time, two years ago, I was very scared, I had done membrane sweep twice, and despite all the pains and contractions, I wasn’t progressing past 2 cm.
A day before she was born, I was having very painful contractions back to back, and I thought that was it because the pain kept getting intense, so I packed my bags and left to the hospital. I was checked, and the nurses on duty were surprised I had not given birth already given how much my labour had progressed since four days before then.
They started to monitor my labour progress, and at around twelve in the afternoon, labour stopped completely . For four hours nothing, by the fourth hour the doctors told me for my baby and I safety we will have to do a caesarean section to get the baby out since I couldn’t be induced due to my previous birth experiences.
Off we went to the theatre, I lay down on the cold stainless table, scared but trusting God and reminding myself of his word, and we started. I don’t know how long it took, but I started to throw up and started feeling pain. I screamed in pain and became unconscious.
In my unconscious state, I saw myself on the street of Korea. On the street was a signpost saying welcome to Korea, people were singing and dancing and I joined them. I was feeling so happy and laughing and dancing towards the city gate when all of a sudden I felt a sharp pain and I opened my eyes.
The first thing I heard was my princess screaming down the hospital. I smiled through the pain. Hearing her screams made me so relieved and happy she was alive. The pain I felt was so intense I had never felt anything like that in my whole life. I felt like someone scrapped my intestines with a metal scrubbing brush. I was pumped up with painkillers to help manage the pain and my journey into motherhood for the third time started.
I look at her from time to time, and I just mutter “ Thank you Jesus”. I am grateful for how far I have come, and I am looking forward to watching her grow.

Fried plantain used to be my absolute favorite.
Crispy edges, soft inside, golden brown, Yummy!
it always made my day. I could eat it morning, noon, and night without ever getting tired.
One evening, I rushed home from work, starving.
I fried a fresh batch that I had bought the previous day but I was too hungry to wait for it to cool.
I took a big bite and, suddenly, I couldn’t breathe.
It lodged in my throat. I coughed, gasped, hit my chest — nothing.
Fortunately for me, My neighbor heard the noise and burst in, She started slapping my back and with one final cough, it flew out, and I collapsed, trembling. My life had just flashed before my eyes.
Since then, I can’t even stand the smell of fried plantain. It brings back wicked memories of fear, the helplessness, the choking.
Everyone laughs when I say I hate it now because they don’t understand.
It betrayed me when I loved it most.
Now, I pass it by like an old rag in a trash can.

If i want to eat fish it must be deskinned and deboned.... thats how i buy it or nothing....
I had the same experience with fish and only God saved me cos that day i was home alone...I dont eat with my hand and my fork did not detect that there was a big bone in the big chunk of fish and i swallowed by mistake without chewing..lol
