Report Alleges That 1 In 4 Nigerian Fathers Not Biological Parents

They have started!!!

It has been revealed that one in every four Nigerian men who undergo paternity testing is not the biological father of the child in question.
This is according to a new report from Smart DNA, Nigeria’s leading DNA testing centre.

The findings are contained in the company’s 2025 Annual DNA Testing Report, which covers July 2024 to June 2025. While the figure marks a slight drop from 27% in 2024 to 25% in 2025, experts say the persistently high rate of paternity exclusion shows a growing but largely unspoken social crisis in Nigeria.

“These findings are not just about science; they speak volumes about trust, relationships, and the economic and emotional realities of Nigerian families today,” said Elizabeth Digia, Operations Manager at Smart DNA Nigeria.

Perhaps the most striking revelation from the report is the extreme rejection rate among firstborn children. According to the data, 64% of firstborn sons tested were found not to be biologically related to their presumed fathers, making them the most likely to return negative results. Firstborn daughters also showed above-average exclusion rates, though not as high as sons.

Analysts suggest that these patterns may be linked to early romantic relationships, pre-marital pregnancies, or social strategies around partner selection. The trend also raises sensitive questions about how paternity is initially assumed and socially accepted in Nigeria, particularly in a culture where male lineage is strongly tied to legacy, inheritance, and the continuity of family names.

    3. 14.41, close your mouth! Every single thing "my gender". How about the men who knowingly have s*x with the married women, no be men dem be? The only people I pity are the men who stay faithful to their wives, but if you are not, then you deserve this dna fraud!

  3. "They have started!!!"

    Who?
The fraudsters? The report says otherwise -"they" have been at it. "They" female Bvs here who support them at least on the basis of revenge.

The Testing company? It only gave statistics of its own business findings. Its findings does is not a National family to family testing survey.

Nigerian men? There is no evidence that only men work in the company to produce the results published.

Anybody who has facts contradicting the results of the company and its statistical analysis of its own testing results should bring it to shame "they".

Facts are facts. Though they may be twisted, the fact remains that DNA is showing some parents are not the biological parents of the children living with them as believed biological children.

Our worry should be about the fallibility (as all human knowledge is) of the science of DNA testing and the effect of that fact, not the worry about "they.

A woman who knows herself has little worry about DNA testing. Her worry is limited to the evil people in some birthing places.

  4. I will never understand why the senate shot down the bill that would have made DNA testing compulsory for new borns in Nigeria.

That said, 25%? I know DNA testing clinics in Nigeria release statistics like this every year probably to gin up some form of public interest and engagement. But if they really have the evidence to back up these claims then Nigeria is practically a nation of bastards!

Let me try to buy what the clinic is saying for a minute. If DNA testing becomes cheaper by a fraction, hell is going to be let loose on the Nigerian landscape.

  5. I don't doubt them, with the story of paternity fraud flying up and down, team one last for the road, goodbye sex.
I read somewhere days ago that paternity test should be conducted before birth certificate can be issued to any child, and I honestly support this, I also wish paternity test should be free in Nigeria or should be subsidized so that everybody will be able to afford it.

We know the female Bvs are always very, very busy on days / periods like these.
Their leader is on summer vacation - Madam "they would soon accuse her of adultery; that is their only accusation".

This is so despite the fact that even the occasional Anon Night Posts on this blog confirm that BOTH men and women, Married and Unmarried X-cheat on their spouses / romance partners.

  7. Fraudulent Nigerians both male and female...I often feel sorry for men who think they are tough, bla, bla, until their third leg betrays them, it will only take a Jezebel and a Delilah to hook men who lack self control, with a child that isn't theirs!

    1. Always twisting narratives to paint one gender bad.

A man who lives straight can be betrayed by a crooked woman, or a woman without self control, or a woman ...

Even a man who enters marriage as a virgin can still be foisted with paternity fraud as a first child or in course of the marriage.

  8. Hmmmm, I don't know what to say, but at least, thank goodness that dna tests is saving lives for. The earlier you know, the better.

  9. The DNA test companies are pushing out these narratives so as to make money from people

    1. Well said.
But are tests showing paternity fraud?

Is it not a shame that the science of DNA is only heard about on this side when it concerns paternity fraud cases?

Meanwhile, in the other sides, it is being used to save lives and assist in preventing or ameliorating gene transferable challenges
