Hmmmmm....
Senator (representing Anambra North Senatorial Zone)Tony Nwoye has appointed the candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Justina Azuka as a legislative aide less than 24 hours after she lost the bid to replace her husband
Azuka was appointed as Senior Special Adviser on Special Duties to the federal lawmaker.
Mrs Azuka had contested election for the Onitsha North 1 State Constituency, previously held by her husband, Justice Azuka, before he was kidnapped and eventually killed.
Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday announced the result of the by-election, declaring the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Mimih Ifeoma Azikiwe winner, while Mrs Azuka came closely behind.
The idea of fielding her as candidate of the ADC was to empower her to train her three children left behind by her late husband. But with her loss in the election, Senator Tony Nwoye quickly appointed her as a legislative aide.
In a photo circulating online, Senator Nwoye was seen handing her an appointment letter.
When Daily post reached out to the senator, he confirmed that he truly appointed her.
Her appointment came with a basic salary of N200,000, and this has been applauded by many who believe that the appointment will cushion the effect of the loss of the husband to her, and also cater for her family.
And beacause she is qualified to handle the post too, thank God for that and congratulations to you Ma'am ,may your husband soul continue to rest in peace Amen 😙
ReplyDeleteWeldon sir, you do well 👍
Nigeria. We do not owe her a job but since we have no safety net, this is how its gonna be
ReplyDeleteCongratulations To Her
ReplyDeleteHello iya Boys
Congratulations
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to her.
ReplyDeleteI don't really buy that idea of electing a wife to replace her hubby so she can have the means to train her children. There are many things like this position that she can do to help her situation, let's elect people based on competence and leave emotions aside.
I don't know who advised this woman to contest that election in the first place. I heard from very reliable source that the Anambra state government was paying her the salary/ allowances of her late husband and had even promised to continue to do so until the end of his tenor. I Don't know how this will play out now with her contesting an election in another party. The woman should have continued like that instead of contesting. The office is not hereditary o..
ReplyDeleteShe really get mind. What killed your husband and you still went ahead to contest. Can you withstand Nigerian dirty Politics game ?
ReplyDeletePolitical position is now hereditary
