Yesterday, I stayed up late into the night, following the shooting and eventual death of American political conservative influencer, Charlie Kirk. He was just 31, married, and had 2 little kids. Man was highly intelligent and was a close ally of Trump. And even though some of his views were deeply religious, often bigoted and 'extreme', still, he didn't deserve to die in that manner.

I watched how Americans quickly united in grief and condemned the incidence, from the President to 'common man'. Hours later, the Governor of Utah, addressed a press conference, fighting back tears, and said "whoever did this, I want to let you know, we will find you. We will try you. And let me remind you that we have the death penalty in the state of Utah...". Before he even addressed the press, the FBI director already tweeted that a suspect was in custody. Omoh, see how a whole nation came together for just 1 life, and the suspect apprehended, in a matter of hours. A country that VALUES lives......

ReplyDeleteSo, yesterday I came across a clip where an alleged plumber proposed to his girlfriend of five years on her sign-out day from university.
He booked the services of a surprise package outlet. While giving them a breakdown of the scope of their relationship, he mentioned that they've been together for five years and he said since he's uneducated, he was delighted to sponsor the girl's education. They asked if she was expecting him, he said yes but was unaware of the proposal. He mentioned that he wanted to surprise her with that.
They kicked off. On getting to the school, with a cake in the hand and the ring tucked in the breast pocket of his attire, he approached the lady with the crew. Her reaction on sighting him was off. She didn't seem excited for someone expecting her boyfriend. And then while she looked dazed, he went on one knee to propose. That was where the trouble started.
With everyone screaming excitedly "say yes! say yes!! say yes!"and cameras rolling to capture what could have been a cute moment, the girl looked even more dazed and angrily rebuked the guy, saying she never said he was gonna marry him. In her words, "get up and stop embarrassing me, did I say I was going to marry you?"
Omo! At this point the guy went on two knees and began to beg profusely. He even went further to tell other people to beg her whilst following her on his knees. At this point, I felt pity for him. It was an eyesore.
He kept following her on his knees and begging. The crew kept raining insults on the girl and even suggested she took the ring in public and later, reject the proposal in private to save her man the whole embarrassment. She refused and the man walked away in tears. It touched me.
Kai! And here's my opinion without taking sides. Before proposing to a girl, be sure she'll say yes the day you pop the question to save yourself such embarrassment.
I'll write this one in capslock, LADIES IF YOU KNOW YOU WON'T MARRY HIM, STOP STRINGING HIM OR LEADING HIM ON!!! FIVE YEARS ISN'T FIVE DAYS.
PS: This shouldn't be turned to a gender war please, because I know some people will soon sharpen their knives to come and spew trash. Let's be objective. I just thought to share it here.

It may be a skit for content but let's assume it was real.
DeleteThey guy may not have the "head" for school. He may not be brilliant or understand what they teach in school and so opted to go for plumbing instead of wasting time and money on trying to train himself.. There are some people like that.
As for training the girl in school, he owns his money and can use it the way he wants.
My advice for men including my own son would be, if you want to train a girl with the hope that she will marry you in future, let her know and agree by signing a document which you can use to prosecute her if she dumps you.
If you don't do that, then train her open minded, if she marries you fine, if she does not , fine.
We cannot dictate to a man in love how to spend his money but we can tell him to secure his heart and interest while spending the money.

Funds he should have used to upgrade himself and business, he used it to upgrade a woman that is not his legal wife or mother of his kid(s). Whatever the case/situation, firstly upgrade and stabilise yourself as a man before thinking of anyone else.

A woman posted her daughter and her new husband 3 days ago to celebrate their wedding, unfortunately the woman died a day after, people now went to that particular post and start typing Rip, on a wedding picture that both the couple are alive and well, most people that ignored when she posted suddenly have the muscle to comment on the post.
It's very annoying.
