Actress Bimbo Akintola Lends Her Voice To Polygamy, Says We Don't Have Enough Men

Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has urged Nigerians to accept polygamy as part of Nigeria’s tradition.
The articulate actress also stated her reasons for supporting polygamy...

She said

She said: “With the way the world is going, people should embrace polygamy. You say marriage is everything, so if we don’t have enough men according to statistics, does that not mean two women to one man?

“I also believe it is part of our tradition. Most of Generation X, Yorubas, and even our parents had two to three wives. It was something we saw while growing up. Maybe we also noticed the disadvantages, but some people say there are advantages too.

“I know some women who would rather have a second wife. I even know someone who married a second wife for her husband so that she could have peace. They didn’t have the same libido. His was higher than hers, so she thought, ‘this man will kill me, let me find support,’ and she married a wife for him.”

    1. The statistics we have is the last census which showed that there are more men than women. The problem is that ladies of nowadays are so materialistic than when our mothers married. Could you believe that my cousin in the US has been turned down by two ladies this year because he does not spend like someone abroad?

  2. Where is this statistics that nigerian men are few coming from? This celebrities will open their mouths ignorantly to spew rubbish. Please ask your yoruba government from Obasanjo to Tinubu that messed up Nigeria and the economy why Nigerian men have relocated to different parts of the world to survive. Nigerian men are alot but unfortunately have left Nigeria to gain citizenship in developed countries. So if you want to be a 2nd, 3rd or 5th wife, go ahead. That's your choice. And all you so called Nigerian yeyebrities should stop disgracing yourselves online with your illiteracy. Nigeria is not all about its illiterate actors, actresses and musicians. Nigeria has learned and well cultured people who carry themselves with dignity and respect all over the world. You all yeyebrities should stop disgracing educated and well cultured Nigerians that don't think and behave the way you all do.
