It's necessarily for proper coordination but let the committee be made up of your real friends and not people in your contact that you want to extort money from.

ReplyDeleteBefore, it used to be a gathering of close friends and family who come together to make weddings colourful through appearance in uniform ensembles whilst offering financial support without coercion.
ReplyDeleteBut now, many people see it as a means of extortion. You'll just be on your own, the next thing is, you find your hairstylist adding you to a WhatsApp group to form a committee for her niece's wedding. This happened to me recently. I couldn't even talk. Mind you since April, I've not been in contact with her. Then out of the blues, I saw myself in a group.
Or a person you haven't spoken to in ages, let's say your secondary school mate decides to hunt for your contact just to add you to their commitee of friends abruptly. I don't really get it these days.
