Aliko Dangote President/Chief Executive, Dangote Petroleum Refinery,has announced the expansion of the refinery’s daily production capacity from 650,000 per barrels to 1.4million bpd. 

Dangote who briefed newsmen in Lagos on Sunday, October 26, 2025, said the feat makes the refinery the world’s largest.

 A petrol-laden tanker fell on the Lambata-Lapai-Agaie Road in Niger State, and caused fear among residents in the area. It was gathered that the tanker, which took off from Lagos and heading to Kano, overturned in the early hours on Sunday at Takalafiya village in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State.

 The leadership of the PBAT Door To Door Movement, a pro-Bola Tinubu group, has said its Grand Patron, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, is not part of the call for the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu. The group also dissociated Tompolo from a purported 21-day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government to release Kanu.

 The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency arrested popular Lagos socialite, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, better known as Pretty Mike, along with more than 100 other suspects during a weekend operation targeting illicit drug use in nightclubs. NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, confirmed in a statement on Sunday that the arrests were made during a raid at Proxy Lagos, a nightclub owned by the socialite in Victoria Island, Lagos.

 Panic gripped residents of the Orile-Iganmu area of Lagos on Sunday as a gas explosion ripped through a section of the Orisunmibare Market, off Baale Street, destroying several shops in a fierce blaze. Although no life was lost in the incident, the fire, which erupted around 2:13 p.m., razed goods worth several millions of naira and sent traders and residents running for safety.

 A tragic boat accident on Saturday in Nafada town, Gombe State, claimed the lives of five teenagers. The victims were identified as Najib Ibrahim, 18; Hauwa’u Dogal, 15; Ummati Baraya, 16; Umaira Gidado, 16; and Amina Jaliya, 15.

 The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested a 75-year-old with 4.7kg of skunk seized from him at Ovum village, Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA), Abia. A statement by the NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi on Sunday in Abuja, said the suspect was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 22. Babafemi said that another 60-year-old was also nabbed with 225 grams of same substance at Apanta village in the same LGA.

 The Anambra State Police Command has arrested seven suspected cultists who are allegedly being groomed for election thuggery during the governorship election slated for November 8, 2025. It was gathered on Sunday that the suspects were arrested during their initiation ceremony in a bush at Obinagu, Abagana in Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.
