Those who gossip, condemn others, compete with you or engage in cutting remarks should rarely find you available - unless the Lord impresses you to spend some time with them to impart his word.
You are not commanded to spend time with people who disturb your peace. Solomon said, 'Don't make friends with quick-tempered people' (Proverbs 22:24 NCV). Paul warned, 'Watch out for people who cause divisions...Stay away from them' (Romans 16:17 NLT).
When you're in the company of a stress-producing person, ask yourself: 'Will this situation grow patience within me if I endure it rather than leave? Why do this person's actions stress me out? Is it because they are reflecting my own behaviour? Why am I continuing to interact with them?' Pray: 'Father, I need you to help me discern when and how to be with stress-producing people so that your love continually shines through me.'

DeleteAt my age, my mom still eats and remain for me. I've told her several times to stop but she insists, saying that so far as I'm the baby in the house, she won't stop. If my adult younger brother were to be around, it'd be him. If my daughter was there, it'd be her. According to her, it's a passed down tradition in my place called 'ohu aria'.
ReplyDeleteLast dinner, after I cleared her plates, she said "mepee efere ahu, ataforom gi okporoko".( Open that plate, I left some stockfish for you). 😂
I'm in charge of food o. I can take as many okporoko as I want from the pot. But Mma still thinks that she owes me some from her plate, as the baby of the house.
It's beautiful, I complain sometimes but deep down, I love it! Especially when she leaves chunks of mangala, okporoko and even chicken.
Well, that tradition ends with me cos I ain't doing ohu aria for anybody mehn, especially for ntanta. I could leave food... But imma finish the hell out of that protein, baby.

ReplyDeletePlease is it right for a mother to call her son papa, while the son called her daughter because the son is a pastor? I didn't read anywhere in the bible where jesus refer to his parents as his children, and he's he's the Messiah .
I just read an article that alleged that a prominent pastor said his mother calls him papa and he also called her daughter cos she's her spiritual daughter,as in your own mother o. O ti daa o
I know of a woman that her son is a pastor, a Pentecostal pastor and you know their tradition of being called papa/daddy. His mom who is also a member of his church calls him Daddy and honestly I find it weird.
