Nigeria's HOR Set To Investigate NFF Over Alleged Misuse Of $25 million FIFA And CAF Funds

Nigeria's House of Representatives has reportedly launched a formal probe into the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) alleged misuse of over $25 million in grants received from FIFA and CAF between 2015 and 2025.

 The motion, which was adopted on October 28, 2025, was co-sponsored by Hon. Adedayo Adesola and Hon. Felix Nwaeke, who cited persistent financial irregularities and poor performance of national teams despite substantial funding.

Lawmakers expressed concern that grassroots football development remains stagnant and referenced a 2016 case where $802,000 in FIFA funds lacked proper documentation. 

A special committee will be set up to investigate the NFF’s financial records and determine whether the funds were used appropriately.
