What would have happened if Abraham hadn’t invited the men to a meal in his house? What would have happened if Moses hadn’t set aside everything to focus on the burning bush? What would have happened if Saul had refused to look for his father’s donkey that was lost, or refused to go see the Prophet after a three-day search? What would have happened if Saul after his encounter on the way to Damascus did not spend time in prayer to ask God what is his next step?
ReplyDeleteYou know the answer. Nothing would happen. Nothing means nothing. They would remain at the same level.
Every time God gives you a thought, an idea, a vision or dream and you do not dwell on it intentionally, nothing happens. The courts of heaven cannot do anything because you did not do anything.
The problem is not that you have not had encounters with spirits sent to help you. The problem is that most times because you are unaware, you never focused on the encounter to press in and move to a higher level where you could then impact the earthly outcome.
Abraham shows us how this works in the divine encounter.
He could have just greeted the men, but inviting them for a meal changed the story of his life and Sodom. Now Sarah did not sit with the men but she focused on what they were saying and she entered the assembly by eavesdropping!
There is something called “the wisdom of the other boat.” It is a principle of faith, that when God is within your neighbourhood, if you stretch your faith even though God wasn’t talking to you, you will receive from God.
Jesus asked Peter alone to launch into the deep for a catch, the other boat followed even though the word was not for them. Both boats came back with overload of fishes.
Go back and read the encounter again between Sarah and God…(Genesis 18:12-15)
This whole discussion between God and Sarah were only thoughts in the mind of Sarah! She laughed in her heart, God heard it. God spoke to Abraham and she responded in her heart again. Her faith or righteousness was not required for the fulfilment of the prophecy. God didn’t even respond to her lie!
Mercy spoke for her.
What if she wasn’t paying attention to her own thoughts?
Where have your thoughts been? Have you dined with angels or kings? Did you press in with attention?
