ReplyDeleteOnly because executing him in either scenario creates a logical paradox that breaks the conditions they set, they had no choice but to release him.
How does that create a logical paradox. He still gets shot if it's the truth and otherwise if it's a lie. Confused.

Delete"I don't know" would get anyone released from a difficult situation like the scenario we are trying to solve.

DeleteWhatever answer he/she choose cannot invalidate the judgment that was already passed for which he/she is serving, so why bother to answer a guilty or not guilty question which is inconsequential to the prison term?

They released him does not necessarily mean he was freed from prison. It may imply that the prisoner was no longer questioned about the matter.
