Its been a long time coming......
In a landmark move to restore unity, discipline, and focus ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at its ongoing 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, has expelled high-profile members Nyesom Wike, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), former Governor Ayo Fayose, Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, and several others.
The decision which was promptly ratified by an overwhelming majority of delegates, underscores the party’s commitment to eradicating internal divisions and anti-party conduct that have plagued its progress.
Long overdue but pretty too late. However it's a good step taken and I'll also say it's better late than never.

ReplyDeleteCourt already stopped them from holding, telling them to go and settle their internal war first. INEC does not recognize the convention, no representative of theirs there.
If they choose new general secretary to replace Sam Anyawu, INEC will not recognize the person.
It is a well orchestrated plan to frustrate the PDP using their own members and state institutions.

ReplyDeleteIs it a get together held in Ibadan where even INEC didn't even show up for selfie that a man of no political consequence read that these consumate politicians have been expelled?
This game of kill PDP for ADC won't work except against both parties. There are 3 standing judgements from federal high courts preventing the convention from holding. Lamido who is completely against Wike and sympathetic to ADC having been attending their meetings, secured the first and last of the 3 judgements.
Knowing that they had no case, PDP refused to go to the appeal court because they knew they had no strong case from the way they handled their primaries, preventing people from buying forms, not allowing states to hold congresses and about 6 states being left behind in this jamboree. An open primary process was jettisoned for clear failure. They chose to settle for a judge that won't face rebuke being close to retirement.
Any such activity without INEC supervision is owambe that has no weight in court. This means that those who have elections to contest from 2026 will need to leave PDP to have a chance. Baba George was just reading the opening salvo for the Requiem mass of the party.
Due to this, governors like Adeleke, Muftwang, Fubara will have to leave with their parliamentarians, chairmen, etc. Fintiri has to move with his entire state temporarily. Those who believe in Atiku will go to ADC which will collapse after 2027 when e clear and those who are left will have to settle for other parties like AA, YPP, etc till PDP gets it right since they don't feel politically at home in APC. Without Intel money, can Atiku finance a national election without south south governors backing? No. But he can finance a primary meaning Obi may be left with VP or another mushroom party that will give even more headache and less output due to lack of agents. SDP has scattered itself into factions.
Lawal has been prevented severally from crossing over. Bala is leaving, Makinde is rounding up. Fintiri made it clear the act was senseless and a convention without INEC is a waste of time.
Let your education, logic and reasoning skills work for you now before you spend the next 5 years nagging about how judiciary that gave APC F9 in Zamfara, Rivers and parts of Plateau are bought. People spending millions to lose more millions in court are the ones in Ibadan today. Makinde has no other election to win. Bala is on his way out. Lawal is forming in the day and dragging door with agbado boys at night. There is no ground swell for ADC and PDP wont win anything because the court will rule against all forms with the wrong signatures.
Agbadorians have not earned enough praise for helping Tinubu as much as those who pretend to be contesting against him.
PDP is being led back to 1998 by those who didn't build it.
