President Tinubu Directs Minister Of State For Defence To Move To Kebbi State Over school Girls Abduction

President Bola Tinubu has asked the Minister of State for Defence, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, to relocate to Kebbi State over the abduction of 24 schoolgirls in the state.
Matawalle, who was formerly governor of Zamfara State, was asked to remain in the state to monitor security efforts to secure the release of the abducted students.

Gunmen abducted 24 students of Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga town, Kebbi State, around 4 am on Monday.

Matawalle, who is expected to arrive in Birni-Kebbi on Friday, gained some experience in dealing with banditry and mass kidnapping during his tenure as governor of Zamfara State from 2019 to 2023.

On 26 February 2021, armed bandits abducted 279 female students aged between 10 and 17 at the Government Girls Science Secondary School, a boarding school in Jangebe, in Zamfara State. The bandits released all the hostages on 2 March 2021.

President Tinubu had postponed his scheduled trip to Johannesburg, South Africa, and Luanda, Angola, as he awaited further security briefings on the kidnapped Kebbi schoolgirls and the attack on Christ Apostolic Church worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State.

    1. Honestly,I just listened to a voice note on Facebook on how terrorists were negotiating with the family of the people they kidnapped in kogi state. You'll think they're negotiating market. So what's the essence of the nin and everything we did if calls can't be tracked?

  3. Always playing Kangaroo approach to sensitive national matters by our politicians,I can't remember Israel prime minister ordering the defense ministry to Gaza when those bastard attacked Israel and kidnapped their citizens, drastic measures or actions follows immediately and the heat spread across their sponsors as well and it's still on up to date. Mr strategy ko ni..abi Mr president you can as well share them thousands of dolls$ as you do during your primary maybe that will help rescue those poor children. They all know the right thing to do but they don't want to do it. Am just so hurt right now.

  5. There has been a past , high profile kidnap of students in the North. That once should've been enough to ensure IT NEVER happens again or at least without a swift and appropriate response. With more responsible governments, attacks of similar nature can only occur once... The reason why subsequent attacks in those climes get more innovative as time goes by, because appropriate measures will be taken to forestall such.
Here, it's a different ball game. Similar attacks, same m.o...both almost a copy of the other and the government will still come up with the same b.s rhetoric.
This country makes one so angry. Is there a problem with us?? Are we in some sort of dark comedy reality that we are yet to wake up from?
GOD help those kids and all
