This mental health issue is real ooo. It baffles me how they plan their deaths without fear or is it that they're no longer in tune with reality? This is so sad.
ReplyDeleteConsciously choosing to end one's life is the ultimate act of free will. I am not sure what was sucking the energy out of him, but I hope he truly finds the peace he did not find in his life. If reincarnation is real, he is in for a rude awakening and he may even incarnate into a worst existence. I only hope he at least set up his funeral arrangements in advance.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, there appears to be a small increase in suicides globally. Check in on your people no matter how strong and together they seem. Tell them that their life matter and part of the joy of your living is in having them in your life. If it is welcomed, a hug can do a world of wonders. Continue to pray for your loved ones, even the ones that are estranged or living in distant places.

When one says mental health issues, depresion is real and is on a rise in Nigeria both amongst kids and adults, Nigerians find away to deny it. May his soul RIP. My condolences to his friends and family.
ReplyDeleteWith the stress, difficulties and huge fear of the unknown in Nigeria many are depressed of course not all are severe and suicidal. However, depressed enough, anxious enough to need a psychologist and a psychiatrist.
Heard he was in serious debt. People are built differently and having a good support system is important.
ReplyDeleteLast year I was so neck deep in debt with no end in sight, trust me I thought of ending it but the thought of my parents and how devastated they will be kept me from it.
I've been really broke as an adult and not once did I think to end it, fckn miserable state to be in but you really can bounce back. Debt is probably one of the easier things to come back from, especially if you are young and healthy. If worst come to worst you can move back in with your parents and start fresh, it won't feel good but shyt happens to the best of us. Simon Cowell went bankrupt and moved back in with his momma in his 30s and plotted out his come back plan, now he is a multimillionaire.
DeleteWe gotta hold each other up and teach kids that a personal failure doesn't mean they are worthless, a spirit of forgiveness and helpfulness goes a long way. Sometimes just talking to someone you trust about personal struggles open up solutions you didn't even think of. Don't let shame and pride stifle your possibilities.
I honestly feel bad that he thought it was hopeless and ending his life was the best solution to his problems. I wish his loved ones all the best because this is going to hurt them for a long time.

Sometimes, when your head and heart is full and there is no better person to talk to, try to see a therapist. A therapist will allow you cry out your pains during the session. They will never tell you to stop crying. After then, you will see that you will have the strength to carry on.
