AFCON 2025 Round OF 16: Algeria Eliminates DR Congo And Proceeds To Q/Finals

In a tense AFCON 2025 Round of 16 clash, Algeria narrowly defeated DR Congo 1-0 after extra time.The intense match remained goalless all through 90 minutes of play and proceeded to extra 30 minutes of play with both sides creating few clear chances.


 The breakthrough came for Algeria in the 119th minute, when substitute Adil Boulbina unleashed a stunning strike into the top corner of the net to seal the win for the 2019 AFCON champions, with just few minutes left to play DR Congo could not find an equalizer and have been eliminated from the tournament. 
Algeria will play with Nigeria in the quarter-finals.

    Man Algeria barely made it through, that goal in the 119th minute was insane. DR Congo really held them off for so long, thought we’d see a draw. Can’t wait to see how they do against Nigeria next. Also anyone following kolkata ff knows how nerve-wracking these finishes can be.
