He pulled out of the party with eight members of the House of Representatives , 21 members of the State House of Assembly and 44 Local Government Chairmen of Kano State.

At least six residents were killed in Baidi village in the Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Wednesday night during an attack by a suspected terrorist group believed to be affiliated to the Lakurawa network, an armed group active in the area. Tangaza is one of the council areas targeted by a US airstrike last December. It is believed to be used as hideouts by terrorists along the Nigeria-Niger border.

The North East Chairman and Commander of Hunters/ Vigilantes (Sarkin Baka) based in Hawul Local Government Area of Borno state, Mallam Shawulu Yohanna have confirmed the killing of a Pastor, two hunters and other two civilians when some suspected members of Boko Haram terrorists invaded Tarfa Village of Biu local government area of the state. Tarfa is a remote community under Biu that shares border with Hawul local government area.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, on Friday in Lagos uncovered an illegal factory producing fake “Goya oil” and dismantled a major syndicate involved in the counterfeiting of alcoholic drinks in Lagos, warning that the activities pose grave dangers to public health. A Nigerian, Gideon Eze, detained for six weeks in Doha, Qatar’s capital city, has cried out to the Federal Government and its relevant agencies to intervene in his case to reverse the injustice done to him. Eze’s lawyer, Inibehe Effiong said Eze had boarded Qatar Airways’ flight from Abuja to the United States on May 7, 2025 but had his trip aborted in Doha due to a profiling and mistreatment incident that resulted from a routine airport security check.

The Armed Forces of Nigeria has assured displaced residents of Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, of sustained and coordinated efforts to secure the safe rescue of their abducted family members. The Director of Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Michael Onoja, said in a statement on Friday that the military had noted the concerns expressed by affected communities but stressed that the rescue of all kidnapped victims remained a top priority.
