The Lagos State Police Command has temporarily suspended its investigation into multiple sxxual assault allegations against Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry.
The probe, initially ordered by Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh, was transferred to Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Sylvester Alabi (Zone 2) for further handling.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, the investigation was halted because the complainants failed to appear, and the command cannot run a parallel inquiry while Zone 2 supervises the case under Inspector-General Kayode Egbetokun.
Pastor Okafor was released on self-recognition to proceed with the Zone 2 investigation. The controversy began in December 2025, after actress Doris Ogala accused him of reneging on a marriage promise, sparking wider allegations and public apologies from Okafor. He also temporarily stepped aside from ministerial duties amid the dispute.
