Nigerian Nurse Struck Off Nurses List In Australia For Repeatedly Sleeping On Duty

This is a sad one..
The NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal in Australia struck off 25 year old Nigerian nurse Chimzuruoke Okembunachi, after finding that she repeatedly slept during night shifts while responsible for elderly patients...

The tribunal ruled that her conduct amounted to professional misconduct. Evidence presented showed that she was discovered asleep on multiple occasions, leaving vulnerable residents unattended and at risk, and the tribunal concluded that her actions demonstrated a serious breach of professional standards and a disregard for patient safety.

As a result, her nursing registration was cancelled, effectively barring her from practicing in Australia.....

  8. A lot of people were calling the government evil for taking such action (on the post I saw it on IG) but these same set of people cry blue murder when their loved ones lose their lives due to medical negligence!

If you can’t stay awake, why accept night shift?

  9. It is Tinubu and Nigerian politician's fault that she slept on duty and they were also the ones that bribed the Australian government to cancel her nursing registration, since they blame government and politicians for everything they cause themselves.

  10. They should verify if she's even a real nurse!

The UK has discovered so many fake nurses, who were paying a recruiting agency to have people write exams on their behalf, to secure jobs there.

    Deportations have started!

  11. Honestly, at 25 she should be able to stay awake. The only excuse is if she has a medical condition herself. I was 25 many many moons ago and today if I have to watch young children into the wee hours then I stay awake because I want to be aware of everything going on. 25 year olds can go to all night parties for an entire week and exist on very little sleep, she has youth and vitality on her side and the night shift is literally the easiest because everyone is sleeping, you just do your rounds to check in and make notes and stay awake to make sure nobody escapes. If she knew that she must sleep at nights then she should have quit the job from they wrote her up the first two times or switched to daytime. But she did not switch because she knew daytime was harder. You can’t be lazy in nursing, you will harm patients. May as well it happened this way.

You cannot take money for a job that you’re not doing. I hope she wasn’t one that took out loans out to japa.

    1. Never heard of pallets and pillows right at the nurses station, they usually do that in another room. Every country to their own standards I guess.

Some people can oversleep but why accept a night shift when you know you love sleep
