Singer KWAM1 Reportedly Writes Formal Letter To Ogun State Gov Abiodun Over Awujale Selection Process

Legendary Fuji singer Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM1) reportedly wrote a formal petition to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, alleging that the Fusengbuwa Ruling House is attempting to exclude him from the selection process for the next Awujale of Ijebuland.

In the letter dated January 8, 2026, and signed by his lawyer Dr. Wahab Shittu (SAN), KWAM1 claims that new directives issued by the ruling house violates the Chieftaincy Declaration and the Obas and Chiefs Law of Ogun State, effectively disenfranchising him and other eligible family members from participating in the nomination process.

He argues that the instructions circulated within the family contradict established legal procedures guiding the selection of traditional rulers in the state.

There are reportedly more than 60 contenders already expressing intent for the Awujale position, and KWAM1 insists that the process must follow due tradition and law.
