    SET BOUNDARIES THAT MATTER

    'Parents, don't be hard on your children.' Ephesians 6:4 CEV


    Two people meet and marry and then have to deal with their differences - especially when their children become teens and they run up against boundary issues. Boundary disputes test the parents' capacity to negotiate differences in deciding what's right or wrong for their child. You let her do whatever she wants...You're driving him away with your strictness...She needs more discipline...he needs space to be a kid. Both parents love their children and want only the best for them, but they disagree on how to accomplish it.

    In his book Boundaries with Teens, Dr John Townsend gives some helpful and practical suggestions. (1) Agree that your teen comes first. Calmly and selflessly discuss your differences together. The winner should be your child! Agree, even compromise, on setting limits that protect your teen and promote his or her best interests. (2) Defer to one another's strengths. Each of you has areas you're better equipped to handle. For example, whichever one is better at organising, listening objectively in heated moments. (3) Don't triangulate your teen. It's easy to pull your child into conflict on your side. Typically the other parent then responds by pampering the child with gifts, privileges and liberties in order to regain their approval. That strategy guarantees everybody loses!

    Agree to sort out your parenting differences. And if you can't, seek the help of a wise friend, pastor or counsellor. Your child's life and future are what matter - so set boundaries that matter!

    1. First of all, the match yesterday stretched till almost 12 midnight, so by the time it ended, my wife don sleep go! So las las, Super Eagles lose, and nothing for me. Meanwhile, Madrid lost their match too. Triple wahala for me....

    2. Those of you mocking Nwabali, I often wonder why. The guy dey try abeg.

    3. Overall, the Eagles did an amazing job throughout the tournament and it's a knockout tie. One team had to lose.

    4. Chukwueze missing his spot kick, is not why Nigerians are angry. The greatest players miss penalties all the time. It's the carefree, lackadaisical way he took it. The casual 'anyhowness'. Blowing bubbles with chewing gum like street babe. Yeye boy! 🙄

      😂😂😂 KJ you just reminded me of a woman that her daughter was getting married. The inlaws asked for the list and this woman went and told them to double everything on the list, in her mind when they bring the stuff she'd take the extras and then present the actual items to the villagers but they shocked her😂😂 the inlaws bought everything and when they were presented, the villagers refused to give the woman the extras and insisted on sharing everything brought 😂 cunny man die cunny man bury am.

    Few minutes ago someone called me and it was a number I didn't store on my phone. I picked up and heard the caller said my ''in-law good morning'' jokingly. I responded good morning. I asked him pls what's the name? He said haba didn't I have his name on my phone? The voice sounded like someone I just met few days ago when we were watching ball at a bar. We had exchanged numbers and I promised to call him if there's a job, for he had indicated interest to follow me whenever I have a job to be assisting me.

    I asked is this Elvis? He said yes na. I said okay but I saved your number that night. In few minutes time I will pass your area and I will give you a call. He said no problem but that he needed a little favour from me. I said go on. He said he wanted to transfer 10k to someone but it's not going. If can help him and do that. I said okay I will call him in few minutes.

    Immediately I suspected something funny. Where I made the mistake was mentioning a name first which he capitalized on as his name. That's what scammers do.

    So I scrolled on my contacts and saw I saved the name of the Elvis and I called the number. Lo and behold it wasn't him that called earlier. A scammer.

    I'm still waiting for him to call back for the assistance.

      This is a very old format.
      He won't call you back since you already told him you would call him while passing through his area, so he will run.
      If you had mentioned an inlaw that is far away, he would have called back.

    Hope you slept well?
    This year's Ramadan fast is starting early, middle of February. I wonder how it would be as everywhere is still dry and this is middle of January already.
    I believe Allah is a merciful God though and he can show up in the last minutes.
    Anyway, we need to be consistent and be present at our business place everyday, be punctual and don't be late, you never can tell when that breakthrough will come.
