The Edo State Migration Agency (EDMA) recently arrested and paraded more than 20 women in Benin City, for engaging in olosho work.

Most of the women said they only turned to doing olosho work to survive, support their children, and meet basic needs, and expressed willingness to stop if the government would empower and assist them.
A video from the operation showed the women lined up in public while agency officials addressed journalists, describing the raids as part of efforts to curb olosho work, combat human trxfficking, and protect the state’s image.
However, some Olosho's claimed that EDMA officials extorted them and publicly humiliated them by recording and circulating videos of their arrests despite assurances that the footage would not be posted online.
Several alleged that officials demanded between ₦15,000 and ₦50,000 for their release and still shared the videos on social media with their faces visible...
