    1. I saw the picture of one killed. Reading that it was two snakes now is shocking. She reportedly drove herself to the hospital instead of lying still. But in a country with no emergency services I don't suppose it would have made any difference of sorts.

Abuja is expanding. More houses are being built in areas that wildlife formerly called home. Incidents like this may keep happening.

If it were in the village it happened, am sure she would still be alive.

    1. You are very correct my dear. The kind of sounds i always hear on my ceiling ehnn...I will just be wondering if someone is living in my ceiling. The big scorpion I saw in my bedroom nko. Like the biggest size of scorpion ever. How the fuck did it get inside? No holes anywhere. Na God save me oo and I give glory to him name.

On another note, some people are advising that we get that medicine called Epa Ijebu, It is very good for both scorpion and snake bites. May God have mercy on us, amen.

Yea, there's a particular leaf my school landlord uses back then as anti venom 🌿 The Baba was gifted in these cures. If I knew I would have asked him to teach me 😊

  10. I feel horrible that this beautiful young woman had to die that way. Rest in peace and may your loved ones be comforted. I always heard that Abuja was a snake infested place, not only just the politicians but real snakes..

If she lived in a complex it should have been built with snake fencing around the perimeter. I hope more homeowners consider installing snake fencing. Seems like they entered her home through some opening or were placed inside there maliciously. Was she in conflict with anyone? As for the hospital not having antivenin, I don’t think those little private hospitals generally have it, but the big major hospitals are expected to have it in stock. A few years back I read somewhere that one of the major producers stopped production and it was getting harder to find globally.

I wonder if it may be useful for children to be given a little snake venom throughout their lifetime to build up immunity🤷🏽‍♀️

  11. RIP. Very tragic. Snakes are mostly solitary, but biology allows overlap, especially with food, shelter, or mating.

  13. Snakes are everywhere in this Nigeria, no problem. But a cobra in a house! It is still a mystery to me. Cobra!

It’s like seeing a wild animal like lion in your room. Yes there are animals around but not a Lion.

  18. Where I live in Ayobo snakes are too much there. My son had seen a big black snake at the back of our house. Immediately I called some of my neighbors they went there and saw that it had entered a hole in our fence which we hadn’t noticed. We used broken bottles and pure cement to seal the hole.
One other man fumigating a large expanse of undeveloped land was attacked luckily for him the spit entered his eyes. This is snake season. Let’s be very careful and vigilant. Keep all doors and windows closed. Seal up any hole in your net and make sure everywhere is closed.
