Croos River State Gov Otu Orders Appointees Eyeing 2027 Elections To Resign

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has directed all members of the State Executive Council and every political appointee intending to contest in the 2027 general elections to resign from office.

The governor issued the directive during a State Executive Council meeting, stressing that governance must remain focused and free from distractions linked to early political ambitions.
Appointees have been given a deadline of March 26, 2026, to comply.
The order applies to commissioners, advisers, and all political office holders across ministries, departments, and agencies.
