MohbadGATE - Paternity Case Stalls As 2 UK Labs Reject DNA Test Over Embalmed Body

The paternity dispute over Liam, the son of late singer Mohbad, has hit a new setback as two UK laboratories approved by a Lagos court have said they cannot conduct the DNA test.

According to Oladayo Ogungbe, lawyer to Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, both labs explained that they do not handle post‑mortem DNA testing on embalmed bodies. Mohbad’s remains were embalmed after his death in September 2023, and the chemicals used during embalming make it extremely difficult to extract viable DNA from tissue samples.

The two labs — Alpha Biolabs (chosen by Liam’s mother, Wunmi) and Advanced Histopathology Laboratory Limited in London (selected by the court) confirmed they lack the facilities for this type of testing.
This update was communicated before any sample collection began.

The court order issued on February 24, 2026, by the Ikorodu Magistrate Court had mandated DNA testing at three different labs for fairness and transparency:

• DNA Diagnostics Center, Fairfield, Ohio, USA (chosen by Joseph Aloba)
• Alpha Biolabs, Warrington, UK
• Advanced Histopathology Laboratory Limited, London, UK

With the two UK labs now ruled out, the US lab remains the only viable option since it has not reported any limitations regarding embalmed remains.
The case continues, and the next hearing is scheduled for April 2, 2026.

    1. You are the one that hasn't moved in. The father of the late singer is a YouTuber regular and has even inherited his clothes.

  3. If that is the case, test Mohbad's son and Mohbad's biological father. If there are traces of DNA, I think that will serve as a consolation and clear all doubts.

    1. It is risky to test Mohbad's father, on the offchance that he is Mohbad's biological father. It's better to test Mohbad's mother instead, and see if her genes/DNA makeup are similar with Liam's.

    3. It is better to do the test with Mohbad's mother because his father might not be his biological father.

    4. Very risky @15:03
What if Mr Joseph is not Mohbad's biological father, it is very possible.

  9. The baby looks more like Mohbad than Mohbad looks like his own father. Lmao, the irony of it all.

    1. If one was to go by looks alone, it could be easily speculated about Mohbad’s own paternity. The father has a distinctive nose and such noses are typically passed on.

  10. Mohbads DNA samples can be collected from biological material containing his hair follicles, fingernails. Other reliable sources include teeth, bones, common personal items, such as toothbrush, comb, brush, clippers, c!garette/wēēd butts, clothing, and cups, can also yield DNA
