  1. After marriage, your spouse should be your BEST FRIEND/BESTIE. Anything else, will spell doom! What are you 'bestifying' with someone else that you cannot 'bestify' with your spouse? If someone else is your bestie, you'll want to spend more time with that person and tell them everything, at the expense of your OWN spouse. And that is the gradual end of your marriage.
‎That's why you MUST marry your FRIEND. Someone you deeply cherish. Someone you constantly want to hang with, and talk to. Someone who truly understands you. OUTSIDE BESTIE kee you dia! πŸ™„

      DO NOT CHOKE YOUR SPOUSE..........
have a life outside of marriage so that you dont choke each other..... I have other besties who also have other besties, just know what u want out, control your narrative.....

Marriage is beautiful but not the way Nigerians have made it....

    3. I think i agree with stella and most times it's even women that chooses their husbands as besties and when things turns, it affects the woman more because she put her all in one person.

In my opinion, Married Women should also have friends and great support system asides from their husbands even if your husband is your friend too.
      Speaking from experience.

    10. Stella, the reason why bestie with opposite gender in Nigeria apart from your spouse or partner is because Nigerians have bastardized it, hardly will you see bestie with opposite gender in Nigeria with good intentions, most of them have ulterior motives.
I will give you three examples from my own personal experience:-
1). When I was younger, I had an area brother that we were very close, we shared everything, would sit down together alone outside in the darkness talking, laughing and it had never crossed my mind one day to date him, people were even thinking we were dating to the extent of thinking that I was the one he was getting married to when he wanted to get married and when people knew that I wasn't the one, they were saying he used me and dumped me, I noticed if he came to my side and I was changing, he would never excuse himself and I just thought maybe he didn't know it was wrong, I would find means to cover myself while changing without him seeing my nakedness, when I started dating my ex baby daddy, that was when he said he had feelings for me but didn't know how to express himself because I had sharp mouth, he didn't want me to insult him and ruined our friendship, meanwhile he had a fiance that he later got married to and still wanted to use me.
2). There was a guy I met online, he said he had a girlfriend and just wanted me as a bestie, I said no problem, while we were still talking, he said we would be having s*x, I told him I didn't want that kind of bestie relationship and he later said we should be dating, mumu me agreed, after some weeks, he said he didn't want relationship that he only wanted bestie, and I told him I couldn't be what he wanted and cut him off, he insulted me tired and late apologized, and was begging me for more than two years for us to come back together, I didn't bulge, even though I missed him because he was very good to me and generous, apart from bestie issue, we vibed very well.
3). I was going on my own when one guy approached me and told me straight that I should be his bestie, from my two earlier experiences as bestie, I told him straight up that it wasn't possible, I could be his friend, but not bestie, I didn't even care whether his intention was genuine or not, but my instinct was telling me he didn't have good intentions.
I hate that word bestie with opposite gender especially here in Nigeria, my bestie should be my partner and I should also be my partner's bestie, case closed.

    11. Pls big STELLA bring up this topic of keeping male & female BESTIE here someday. It's a very sensitive matter, 80% of men dislike their wife's bestie ooo. LOL

    13. Grateful soul I did not read your essay, I only saw where you mentioned opposite gender bestie.
Pray, tell, where in Ali B or Stella 's comment did they mention opposite gender? That's how you fail your exams.
We are talking about BESTIE, whether opposite gender or same gender, you are writing nonsense stories.

    14. In my opinion, if you are friends with your spouse, make him or her your bestie but filter what you tell him or her.
Have other friends outside that you can talk to (also filter what you tell them, some things are better taken to the grave). If you have kids, make them your friends too.
My first daughter is my friend, she knows many things that my hubby does not know.

      Delete
    15. Anon 11:34, you must be st*pid in nature to be telling me sh*t, if your opinion is contrary to my own, why can't you jump and pass, don't come and pass your own frustrations on me, everybody has what they're going thru, I said what I said.

    16. Ali, always yarning dust to please the womenfolk, most times. God should be your only bestie - you came into the world alone and return alone. Dont place all your life on your partner - male or female.

  2. The Consciousness Of His Lordship!!
    Acts 20:32.

"Now that you’re in Christ, it’s a new life altogether, a life under the lordship of Jesus. Yet, many Christians are not fully conscious of His lordship in their everyday life. When you say Jesus Christ is Lord of your life, it means that His Word has become the supreme authority in your life."

"So, make up your mind to live perpetually under the authority of the Word. The more you submit to the Word, the more you’ll function in the consciousness of His lordship for His glory to be revealed in your life in ever-increasing measure."

    Prayer!!

I’m fully yielded to the authority of God’s Word, the Word of His grace that builds me, strengthens me, and positions me in my inheritance in Christ. I’m growing, making progress, and manifesting the glory of God in ever-increasing measure because I’m a doer of the Word. The Word of God is my life and my all. Hallelujah!

  8. If you have a doctor in your life. Please check up on him or her, not because you need their service but because you genuinely care. It's not an easy time for doctors in Nigeria. A doctor close to us collapsed after performing a surgery. The surgery was successful, as he was stepping out of the theatre, he collapsed and that was the end of it.

  13. CONSULT GOD IN EVERYTHING

'You will hear a voice saying, "This is the road! Now follow it."' Isaiah 30:21 CEV

Live with one ear towards Heaven: 'Is this opportunity from you, God?' 'Are you in this venture, God?' 'Should I take this road, God?' One time Joshua failed to do this and paid for it. Here's the story. A group of strangers entered the camp of Israel saying, 'From a very far country your servants have come' (Joshua 9:9 NKJV). Evidently, they knew God's law had made special provisions for cities outside of Canaan (see Deuteronomy 20:10-12). Any city that agreed to make peace with Israel would be spared. So, being afraid, they resorted to deception. Three days passed before Joshua realised he had been lied to. These people were not from a distant land; they were from Gibeon, only a day's walk away. As a result, Joshua entered into an alliance with the enemy because he didn't seek the counsel of God.

We do well to learn from Joshua's mistake. Our enemy enters our camp in disguise as well: 'Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light' (2 Corinthians 11:14 NIV). He's crafty. That's why it's essential that we consult God in everything.

In every decision and at each crossroad, acknowledge him, heed him and ask him: 'Do I turn right or left?' David said that God's word is a 'lamp to our feet' (Psalm 119:105 NKJV), not a spotlight into the future. He gives enough light to take the next step. When we pray, he speaks to our hearts: 'Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, "This is the way you should go," whether to the right or to the left' (Isaiah 30:21 NLT). So consult God in everything.

    1. Before you will end Nigeria how? Are you threatening to unalife yourself? who told you hardship is only in Nigeria? yesterday the transport system did not move of demonstration of hardship...foodstuff and fuel has skyrocketed here....No price remains the same so i dont know what u r on about...stop making suffering look like a Nigerian problem..it is a general thing even in countries where the govt provides for them...I cant explain this.

i get nervous cos of BV Oluyomi that unalfied herself many years back when her family was shaming her for a lot of things.....She was in her 50's and unmarried and had no kids...she was shamed for being broke as well...My long talk did not convince her..please dont do anything to end Nigeria.........

    2. Transporters are also part of the problem we have in this country. I remember they increased tfare when we were buying fuel at 1100 then but forgot to review the price when the price crashed to 770/820 but now that it has gone back to 1100 they increased tfare again. This is unfair

  17. Now to Him who, by (in consequence of) the action of His) Power that is at work within us, is able to carry out His purpose and) do super abundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams. Ephesians. 3:20

God's power and grace is able to do for us more than we can ever desire or dream. God wants us to know Him intimately, our faith in Him rises to the proportion of our revelation of who He is, how much He love us and how much He is willing to do for us.

God's love for us is beyond what words can describe, it is able to make us greater than what we can ever conceive.

At this moment, let's begin to meditate on the word concerning His love for us; as we do, His power within us will be revealed manifesting in abundant blessings.

His love is the source of this unlimited power at work in us, it will change everything about us.

  21. Emmy nwannem, today is exactly one month you passed and I'm yet to come to terms with the cruel fact.
I remember that day I walked into the hospital ward, immediately I saw you all anger inside of me melted. I held you and we cried together. I assured you that you'd get better and yes better you got after few days until everything changed and here we are.
It still feels like I'm in a bad dream and struggling to wake up but seeing Deede working tiredlessly to make sure we give you a befitting burial, reality is gradually sinking on me.

Emmy nwannem we are trying to be strong but deep down we are broken, I am broken! Mummy is. I don't know if I would ever stop crying, I just don't know. The pain is just too much.

You are our shining Star ( I can't use past tense) the shining Star in our family. Whenever the villagers want to bring their shenanigans and they remember you, they back off. You protect all of us. When you enter a room, everyone knows that Onye Army has entered. I don't know how it's going to be without you.
