NOTORIOUS FOR JESUS

The last time we went house hunting, the landlady was from my town, knows my parents and even my family church by mere description.

 I wonder how things like this happen but this is the first time I came across someone in a strange land knowing my background. 

She described my late Mum and my Dad and even told a story of how my mum was nice to her in church one day when she was still alive. 

Some of the reasons we didn't take the place was partly because it was too pricey and partitioned.

 You could literally hear the other person talking in the next apartment in your own space and vice versa. I also noticed she started addressing me directly, calling me by my real name when she found out who I was.

 I loathe over familiarity.

 I want to rent an apartment and enjoy liberty, I don't want anyone policing me around, coming over to my space unannounced or acting like renting an apartment from them is them doing me a favor. 

Also, I saw a talkative because the few minutes we chatted, she had started talking about one of the tenants who she was kind to repay with evil.

 She also mentioned how she chased the last tenant in the next flat because they weren't straightforward despite treating them nicely. These are red flags, and I quickly signalled to my husband who clearly was already carried away by her supposed kindness. 

I cannot kpai on top my hard earned money. I cannot use my money to rent frustration.

You sef eh!!!.....The woman did not do anything wrong, the red flag is in your head

FROM A SISTER TO A SISTER

As a divorcee, should you explain everything about your previous marriage to an intending husband?'

When you first meet a suitor, you are not obligated to narrate your entire past. But it is obvious that any serious man you meet after divorce, will be interested in knowing where you're coming from. In fact, some men will like to know if you have been properly divorced or not.

For the purpose of marriage, some explanation is necessary, especially if your previous marriage led to having children, legal issues or you know your past may affect the future marriage. Honesty matters, you do not need to expose sins, but you must avoid deception. Ask yourself before answering questions; is this information beneficial for the new marriage, will my information help to build trust in the new marriage and am I going into the new marriage with healing or pain???

When you are narrating your experiences in the past marital relationship, if you have to, instead of: “my ex was wicked, 'oloriburuku' etc … everything was his fault,' say something like: “We had incompatibility and unresolved issues. We both made mistakes, and after efforts, divorce was the best decision.”

The first statement showed that the sister has not healed, and the second statement has demonstrated the relief, responsibility and maturity.
A wise man looks for maturity, not a perfect past. Most brothers will also be interested in knowing who initiated the divorce in your previous marriage. From the information most divorced women give, the intending husbands either take them for granted or run away after listening.

After divorce, endeavour to go for post divorce counseling...
Prayer, Counseling and Healing are three basic things you need to do. If your intention is to justify yourself emotionally to everyone that proposes, it only shows you have not healed, so pause and heal first before re-attempting marriage. Do yourself a favour, do not marry a man or woman who is yet to heal irrespective of their marital status.

This advice is also for singles....Always pay attention to details.

BE GOOD TO YOUR IN LAWS

Being good to your in-laws in marriage is not just about “impressing” them, it is about building peace around your home. They raised the person you married. Showing them honour shows your spouse that you value their roots.

In this this time of fasting reach out to your in laws, be good to them. 

A peaceful in-law relationship is a blessing. Visit when appropriate, send small gifts occasionally, include them during celebrations because kindness softens even difficult hearts.

Some in laws may not help matters oh.....My only sister in law no send, you love am or not she only knows how to show love and she is so good to me.....Wasnt like this in the beginning though cos i no send ..lol

Being at peace with in laws is a two way thing...what if you try to be at peace and all they dois create war?
