Lawmaker Desmond Elliot’s 4th Term Bid Rejected By Leaders In Surulere ....

Community leaders in Surulere, Lagos, under the Surulere Accountability Forum, have rejected Nollywood actor and lawmaker Desmond Elliot’s bid for a fourth term in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

In a statement issued on April 1, 2026, the group’s spokesman, Olanrewaju Badmus, said Elliot’s three terms have produced poor results, citing weak legislative ideas, few constituency projects, and failure to address issues like bad roads, youth unemployment, and poor primary health care.

Badmus stressed that their stance is about accountability, not personal grievances, adding that Surulere needs fresh leadership with new ideas.
Their position comes shortly after another group of APC members and residents held a rally supporting Elliot and urging party leaders to adopt him as the 2027 consensus candidate.
