Unfortunately, she was admitted because of her low blood level, so they needed to transfuse before the chemo. I was there till 9pm. Not long, we heard people shouting and sort of. I went downstairs to check what was going on.A guy mistakenly hit someone with his car then,he immediately brought the person by himself to the specialist hospital where we were.
They gave him bill and he made payment without even thinking twice. They were attending to the patient when some guys came(up to 30).
They wanted to force themselves into the hospital to drag out the car owner all because they want to deal with him. (bad thing about the hospital is, no security and the staff on duty were all female).
I had to help them by stopping those guys, I begged them but they were so angry. They forced themselves in, dragged out the guy and began to beat him. They dealt with him, collected his key, his phones, his jewelries and drove off his car.
I took him inside the hospital and he was also treated.

When the nurses were attending to him, I went to the ward where the accident victim was and I met a nurse attending to him too but fortunately for the victim, nothing happened to him, just little bruises and that was all.
He was even saying,he is cool that he needs to go home because God spared his life. I told him to calm down then I began to interrogate him, so as to get info of those who came because I took pictures of some of them. I showed him pictures and he was able to identify his younger brother and two other people (while asking him, my wife's phone was on record because I collected it from her for that purpose).
After getting all needed info I told him how much the car owner paid for his treatment and he shouted(he said "nothing do me now, the money is too much"). Then I continued and told him what his brother and other guys he brought did. Baba was cold.

I asked him to relax and made him understand that, our conversation was recorded for justice purpose. I left his ward and went to the reception, I asked them to watch that guy and not allow him escape. I took my phone and called the specialist (that's the owner of the hospital and gave him vital info). Had no option than to sleep over at the hospital that night cos of the person we escorted that was admitted.
The next day, the Doctor came and asked questions. The car owner was allowed to go to the station to report the case. I gave him all necessary details and sent him pictures and voice note I recorded.

After some hours, the guy came with two police officer and they saw the accident victim, in fact, they would have discharged him but they didn't because the police officer needs to see him and take action from there.
His brother has stupidly put himself and others into trouble.
I got a call last night that, those guys have been apprehended. The guy asked if I can come over to the station but me dey Lagos and still busy in Lagos for now. Too many messages from the guy thanking me but I did it for humanity sake.
People should learn how to resolve issue without being violent. There is an accident and what you can only do is beat the car owner, take away his phone, his car and snatch his neck chain. That's stupidity, stealing by trick. They should enjoy whatever that comes thereafter.
Ire ooooo

You've done noble but please don't go to the station.I am even fearing for your safety in this little one that you did
ReplyDeleteYou did a kind thing but please take your personal safety seriously.
ReplyDeleteThose boys are "amuroba". They should face the consequences of their actions.
Situations like this is why hit and run cases are rampant. But a hospital should have some form of security in place. If security were there, the matter wouldn't have escalated to the level it did.
ReplyDeleteEven if they have security it probably won’t be enough to hold back 30 guys
DeleteThey didn’t even bother to visit the victim
Just wanted to steal
Pinky be careful oh
We have warned you many times
You really did well here. In a tense situation that could have escalated badly, you stood for what is right and ensured proper steps were taken for justice. Respect.
ReplyDeleteThe violent actions from those who attacked the driver were so wrong and unacceptable, make them face the consequences
This is why I really do not like going into strange communities, even countries. You just don’t know who ppl are.
ReplyDeletePinky, you are cut from a different cloth.
You did a noble thing, but please for your own safety, don't go back to that police station oh. May God take charge of every situation that concerns the chemo patient.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you Pinky, your goodness will always be remembered by God 👏
ReplyDeleteBut next time be very careful. Be streetwuse as you help others. God no go let us jam agbako 👏
You did a noble job but just be very careful.
ReplyDeleteGbayi ... Pinky 👍
